    One word. DELICIOUS
Amazon’s Whole Bean Dark Roast Coffee is a delightful treat for coffee enthusiasts. The rich, bold flavor profile is impressive, offering a robust and full-bodied experience with every sip. The beans are expertly roasted to achieve a deep, aromatic brew that is both smooth and satisfying. Perfect for those who enjoy a strong cup of coffee, it holds up well to milk and sweeteners without losing its distinctive taste. The packaging keeps the beans fresh, ensuring a quality cup every time. Overall, this dark roast coffee from Amazon is a great choice for anyone seeking a premium coffee experience at an affordable price.

What you get out of it depends on how you brew it
I ordered AmazonFresh Dark Roast Whole Bean and used it in my, admittedly decrepit, automatic drip… and thought it was one of the more lackluster coffees I’d ever had. I felt like there was nothing to distinguish it.I brewed it in my moka pot – and got a whole different animal. Dark, rich, with cedar-y notes. It really does lend itself to brewing in a moka pot, because there is no trace of bitterness in it and the moka pot can sometimes enhance those darker flavors. If you brew this in an espresso machine or a moka pot, I don’t think you will be disappointed especially given the budget price. Other brewing methods, you may not get the most out of it.I realize this is a blend and that the coffees used may vary week to week or more frequently, but it would be nice if there was some way to put the countries of origin on it and be able to update that list on the fly for every batch. I realize that this is an idle pipe dream for a $0.50 per ounce coffee, but one can ask. 😉

I’m surprised that I actually like it!
I’m certainly not a coffee snob–but I love the idea of finding good deals, or the intersection of “good taste” vs. price. I bought 12 oz of this coffee, and one cup in, I’m impressed. The beans are oily and dark–I love that. I don’t know if “oily” is good or bad, but I like that in my whole-bean coffee. The beans smell…. weird. Like steel? Not good. The smell of the beans before grinding smells like machinery… or something. I was worried. Then I ground them and put them in my Aeropress. Some sugar and half/half into the cup–and the coffee actually TASTES…. good! There might be a slight aftertaste of that “machinery” smell/taste…. but I’m not sure I’d notice it if I wasn’t looking for it.Summary: Don’t smell it, drink it. I don’t think you can beat the value.

Expensive taste of dark roast for little money
I’m a huge fan of dark strong roasts, and this roast was most definitely hit right out of the ballpark by Amazon. There is no burned, bitter aftertaste even when extra strong coffee is brewed. It’s very smooth and velvety. Reminds me of certain French roast taste from famous Seattle coffee roasting company. I’m thoroughly enjoying this coffee!Making this coffee is easy, just grind up the beans to your desired consistency and use it in any drip coffee maker. Single serve extra fine ground is my preference. On the side note, packaging could be a bit more robust, complete with a degassing valve. But at this price point I find it hard to complain.

    Almost to “Use By’ date.
Taste is okay, it has that slightly burned flavor that S-bucks coffee has.It arrived with only 2 weeks remaining until the “Best By” date.
