Excellent bags, as good as what high-priced coffee comes with
There’s no better way to keep coffee, beans or ground, than in a good bag with a one-way valve. As you use the coffee, you can roll the top down to get a good seal, and thanks to the valve the extra air will all be squeezed out and can’t get back in. (I used a rubber band around the outside after rolling it up to keep it tightly rolled.) That’s better than a sealed cannister, which traps air inside with the beans, and much better than a plastic storage bag, which will slowly fill with air. Air (oxygen) is the enemy of freshness, and these bags are your best weapon. The only thing better is vacuum-sealing them, but that’s a pain if you’re using the contents daily.These are especially great if you’re roasting your own beans, as I often do. In that case, the beans leak gas after roasting for a few days, and the valve lets the gas escape, and keeps the bag tight and the contents fresh.These bags are better than any other valved bags I’ve used, and I’ve used several different types. They give a good seal, are fairly tough, and the valves are installed solidly and work well. Of course, you’ve got the extra work of heat sealing them, but that’s easy to do with a vacuum sealer or an iron. But after that you’ve the great “zipper” at the side of the top to get in and out easily. Really like these.

Good bags, but I may have been served better by something else…
As something relatively new to home roasting (all of three months in) I chose to invest in a nice set of single-dose tubes for my personal use, but with the holiday season fast approaching and the seemingly obligatory notion of “I’ll roast a bunch of coffee to give away to family and friends!” creeping its way into my mind I’ve found myself on the hunt for some nice bags.My first critique here has to do with sizing and isn’t so much directed at this product specifically, but rather the market as a whole. I was really hoping to find something more around the 4oz/100g capacity, but that sizing seems to be woefully underrepresented, at least here on Amazon; scant few offerings available at the time I was looking.As for the product itself, I’m pleased with it on the whole. Having not invested in an impulse sealer just yet I did some testing with the seal function of a vacuum sealer, as well as a clothes iron. In both cases I found that I needed to heat from both sides in order to account for the thickness of the folded area of the bag. The iron worked a bit more consistently.In retrospect, going with a bag that offered a traditional tear-off top design might have been a better choice for my needs, as those lack the fold that was giving me occasional issues in sealing. For that matter, that design wouldn’t even necessarily require sealing, whereas with these bags sealing is not optional.Regardless, I found the bags to be of good quality and function expectedly.

Work as intended
We tended to buy coffee beans in bulk and use but eventually the volume gets too low for the large bag they came in and its still too much for the container you use them from. I saw these and they have worked really good so far at storing beans once they get too low to keep the large original bag around. It was easy to transfer and seal and store until used. The volume should last us a long time and so far the one I have opened was still fresh, so no complaints.
