Nick the Wick –
Coffee for Chocolate Milk Lovers
I love this coffee and I believe that I have found the flavor profile that I have been chasing after for years! However, there are some caveats and there is a definite way that this coffee is served best.THE GOOD:I have mainly been pulling espresso shots with this and then making cappuccinos or lattes with this. I’m doing 20g of beans in, 45g out of espresso at roughly 20-26 second pulls. This process has yielded some of the most chocolatey tasting espresso I have ever had. Especially when the shot is poured over ice right away with as little as a literal pinch of sugar and about 8-10oz of whole milk (I use Lactaid for the taste), this tastes almost exactly like chocolate milk. It is straight up addicting and good. Espresso comes out tasting chocolate forward and with a chocolate finish. i find that the caramel/sugar cane notes sit somewhere in the middle. The nuttiness is light and allows the chocolate to be the star. Obvi, a straight shot has some bitterness there, still waaaaaaaaay less bitter than a straight shot at your fav coffee spot. You get more of the nuttiness in a straight shot and some of the orange notes this way.Cold brew is also FANTASTIC with these beans. Chocolatey, smooth, and has a natural light sweetness to it. With the cold brew, you get a little more of the nuttiness there. Just great.THE MEH:The only real detraction or negative I can give to these beans is that it was1. a little harder to dial in. it probably took me about 15 pulls to get it dialed in the best and another 5 to replicate. (I’m also newbie in the coffee space, keep that in mind)2. that these beans do not produce very much crema for some unknown reason. So visually, when you pull a shot it makes you think that you screwed it up since there is very little crema. This added to my many extra pulls to get dialed in because I thought that I was just constantly screwing up something in my puck prep.3. The 12oz bag I ordered had a roast date that was more than a week from the date it shipped out. Didn’t seem to lessen anything from what others have said. The 2lb bag I bought did not have a roast date on it. I think the date got rubbed off in shipping because there seams to be a VERY faint 2024 on the bag. The 2lb bag of beans do seem like they aren’t the freshest. However, despite this, they are still my fav espresso beans to date for lattes!CONCLUSION:I have come to not really care about most of the negatives this with these beans as it just seams to be the way they are. I am not a social media coffee personality that needs the most picturesque, tiger-stripping espresso pulls. Flavor is king for me and this tastes like the coffee of my dreams when done up as an Iced Latte.

Amazing aroma
A friend suggested that I try this coffee and I’m glad I did. I also bought a trial pack of three different varieties.Ethiopia Sudama is soft and balanced with a slight acidity, especially good for cappuccino. But what I like the most is the aroma, unique and enchanting, with notes of chocolate and vanilla.Highly Recommended!

Wonderful Coffee
Smooth, elegant, and very delicious coffee. The light roasting was done perfectly by these folks, which confirms Yirgacheffe as one of my favorite coffee bean varieties ever. The quality of the roasting was outstanding. But why not a full 5 stars? Only because of the cost. Good quality Yirgacheffe is always a bit pricey, specially if it comes from the right area and fair-wage considerations are taken into account. The thing is that I am able to obtain the same quality, if not better, and organic from a roasting outfit in Alaska for lower per pound price. The lower price for equally outstanding quality from a local roaster in Alaska (which I visit regularly) and shipped all the way to the East Coast from there, leads me to take one star from what quality wise is an outstanding product.

Excellent
Let me start by saying that Iâm a coffee snob. I admit that. I like light roasted beans that brew a coffee that is almost tea like. I grind the beans using a spurr grinder, and I use a pour over process, with precise coffee weight (45g) and 1:16 water (720g). This coffee is excellent. It brews a nicely balanced cup that is not too light and not too dark. The flavor is very smooth. I am not good at giving the flavors, so I wonât even try. Suffice to say, it is an excellent cup of coffee.

It’s like drinking water!
I can’t call this coffee. We’ve tried many brands of Yirgacheffe, but these beans did not have the scents nor flavor of any that were described on the website.

This coffee is a true morning delight, offering a perfect blend of rich flavors and aromas that invigorate the senses and uplift the spirit. Each sip is a reminder to enjoy every moment, making every morning memorable. Its great taste is not just a testament to its quality but an invitation to savor life’s little pleasures. Excellent Light Roast
Excellent light roast Ethiopia Dumerso. This coffee is bright with balanced acidity and excellent flavor. A little less âfruitâ than the natural process coffees from this region, which means this is a crowd pleaser. Brews great in a Chemex at 1:15 ratio, 204 degrees, 4 minute pour. Highly recommend.
