Works with Lor Barista Machine
I recently purchased the Lavazza Espresso Variety Pack, and itâs been a fantastic addition to my coffee routine. These capsules work perfectly in my Lor Barista Espresso machine, delivering a consistently smooth texture and bold, rich flavors.I also appreciate that the capsules are made of aluminum, which not only enhances the brewing process but also makes them recyclableâan eco-friendly bonus. The variety pack is great for exploring different intensities, from light to dark roasts, depending on my mood.Pros:Smooth texture and excellent flavorCompatible with Lor Barista and Nespresso machinesRecyclable aluminum capsulesGreat variety of roastsHaven’t found any cons as of yet.

Quality Going Down Hill–At This Rate It Will Soon Be Only Murky Caffeinated Soup
I checked my Lavazza order history: 17 orders thus far, but alas, it’s time to part ways. It’s not that I’ve changed, but Lavazza has, and NOT in a good way.It may be that they actually believe all the hype on their item page; and maybe at one time in the past it was at least partially true.So let’s just say that if you don’t mind watery tasteless espresso, with Lavazza, your ship has come in.In Amazon terms, it’s plummeted from 5 Stars to 1 Star, and the Star of Oblivion appears all but inevitable.Time to abandon ship. The cherry on top: now I understand why it sounds like the pump on my espresso maker is groaning like it’s trying to extrude mud through a straw. My poor pump.I doubt that for the price anyone expects Lavazza to be Nespresso or Peats. But have you simply stopped trying to make a respectable (or drinkable) product? (Rhetorical)It used to be that the coffee was okay, but the pods were iffy. Now they both suck.Anyway, I ordered two of the Starbucks Original variety packs and so far (about eight pods) NOT A SINGLE DROP OF WATER in my catch tray, plus it’s quite robust, concentrated, and flavorful.Kind of the way espresso is supposed to be, right?I like to think of myself as a loyal customer, but not when you mess with my ESPRESSO!*Brief Update* Nearly a dozen Starbucks capsules used so far, and still, not one drip in the catch tray.My provisional opinion is that the Starbucks capsules are very comparable to the Nespresso brand,if not equivalent in quality.

Fantastic alternative
These work perfectly with my Nespresso machine. They are made of aluminum just like the Nespresso pods. The flavor is comparable and the price point is great! Highly recommend.

Good coffee, poor performance
Espresso is very tasty, but the problem is on the ninja coffee pot when you do a shot it comes out with water in the beginning and then a small amount of coffee after that if you hit the button the second time you get a better shot so it just does not work quite right on the ninja coffee pot. This is an update, I really like the coffee and have figured out how to work around how they perform. They are at a good price.

… and it’s nothing you can’t handle — and for the price and quality, it’s worth the slight hassle. The capsules have a tendency to fall straight through. Maybe 3 in 10 don’t get “grabbed” by the Nespresso system. You need to hold the capsule as you close the chamber and make sure it sits properly. Also, it’s labour-intensive to recycle the pods: I scoop out the coffee to go in the compost and put the plastic shells in the recycling bin.

This is a nice, bold coffee!

These pods have quite a few flaws, which surprised me, since Lavazza is such a large and knowledgae company. I will list my 3 biggest issues with the pods. The pods are too short. The length of the pod is about 3mm shorter than original Nespresso pods and other competitor pods. This shows in the end result as sometimes lots of water leaks to the water catchment tray. The plastic pod is not durable. The pod has foil seals on either end, which is a good idea, but the plastic body is so thin that it melts due to the high heat of the water passing through. The coffee is not Lavazza quality. I’m not sure what happened, but Lavazza seems to be using some coffee that is not nearly as good as their regular line of beans/ground. I much preffer Lavazza drip coffee. Nespresso pods are way better. And with a saving of only about 15 cents a pod, is it worth it?Like I said, you save about 15 cents per pod compared to Nespresso original. But it is worth it to risk damaging your machine which costs anywhere from $100-$500+, to save a few cents? I returned my pods.

Flavor: 2/5Value: 2/5Freshness: 3/5I purchased 2 x 10 packs of these based on all the positive reviews, but am very disappointed…THE BAD:Out of 10 capsules, only 7 of them worked. I have a Nespresso Pixie and the flow rate through these capsules is terrible. If takes 2 to 3 times longer to extract an espresso compared to original and other third party pods I’ve used. This ends up putting more pressure on your pump, forcing it to run longer, and in the end will shorten the lifespan of your pump. The 3 capsules that did not work were completely torn up at the top where the capsule is punctured. In addition the capsule do not puncture properly sometimes and you have to eject them and puncture them again… very annoying.THE GOOD:When you get the capsules to work they produce a decent espresso shot. Not as strong and smooth as other capsules I’ve tried; but decent enough to make a small Americano for your friends who are not espresso/coffee snobs :-)OVERALL RECOMMENDATION:If you ar we a coffee/espresso snob and want the best quality shot capable with your Nespresso, and do not want to deal with defective pods, then DO NOT purchase these. On the other hand, if you want to save some money and can deal with an average tasting espresso/americano then these may be for you, but keep in mind that some of them WILL FAIL, so are you really saving money in the end?
