La Colombe Nizza is a medium roast blend that hits at the heart of sweet. It’s named for the city of Nice, France, hometown of our co-founder JP and home to some of the best honey in the world. True to its name, this coffee exemplifies a honey-sweet, roasted nuttiness. It’s one of our longstanding favorites, and the coffee we use for espresso in all La Colombe cafes.

An unexpected pleasure
I tried this on a recommendation and have to admit that itâs the smoothest coffee Iâve ever brewed at home. Didnât really expect enjoy it since Iâve drank a lot of coffee in my 65 years, but this was a very satisfying brew. I will be ordering more.

Delicious Medium Roast Coffee with Hints of Nut and Brownie
I’ve purchased La Colombe coffee for about 2 years now. I like a coffee with just hints of flavor and this met my expectation. It’s not sweet, but has bits of flavor to make it yum.Texture – nicely and evenly grounded for drip coffeeRoast & Flavor – roast is a balanced medium; hints of nuts, caramel and brownie. The chocolate is very subtle. To be honest, I can’t really taste “chocolate.” Flavor is more on the mild side.Sweetness – With a description that includes brownie and chocolate, one may be concerned about sweetness. I would not call this sweet in any form.Issues – once I received beans vs ground and another time the coffee was close to expiration

Great taste when combined with oat milk
Nizza Medium Roast Coffee offers a balanced and smooth flavor with notes of milk chocolate, nuts, and brownie, enhanced by a honey-sweet roasted nuttiness. The medium-bodied coffee has a clean finish and is versatile, enjoyable both black or with milk and sweeteners. The inviting aroma and consistent quality, regardless of packaging, make it a delightful choice for coffee lovers.

Feel its a good coffee for the price.

Good, but overpriced
Got the Bleu Dark Roast. Very good coffee, but overpriced. Other coffee, like Pete’s, just as good for under $10 / 12 oz.

Disappointing Coffee Experience: Lacking Flavor and Freshness
I recently decided to give this coffee another shot, having purchased it before in whole bean form. However, my experience with the pre-ground version has left me thoroughly disappointed. It’s disheartening to say that this particular batch lacks any semblance of flavor and freshness. The aroma that once greeted me when I brewed the whole beans is now conspicuously absent. Instead, there’s a faint, almost stale scent that wafts from the grounds as they steep. The very essence that defines a good cup of coffee seems to have evaporated along with the grinding process.Upon taking the first sip, I couldn’t help but notice the pronounced absence of the vibrant notes that characterized the whole bean version. It’s as if the flavor profile has been muted, leaving only a vague suggestion of what this coffee could have been. The lack of depth and complexity in taste is evident, and the cup feels one-dimensional and uninspiring.Perhaps the most disappointing aspect of this experience is the lingering taste of age. The coffee seems to have lost its youthful vigor, and instead, I’m left with a shadow of what once might have been a rich and enjoyable brew. The old, tired taste that permeates each sip serves as a constant reminder of the potential that has gone unfulfilled. As a coffee enthusiast, I believe in giving products a fair chance. I had high hopes for this ground coffee, especially after my positive encounter with its whole bean counterpart. Unfortunately, this experience has taught me the value of retaining the integrity of the bean until the very last moment, preserving the nuances that make each cup a delight.

Strength
The coffee is defiantly not a true dark roast. You have to use a LOT of coffee grounds. Even still. The coffee tastes weak or watered down. So if you like your coffee to taste on the milder side without a smokey or burnt taste and devoid of any overtone, this is the coffee for you.
