Nice Espresso Set: Attractive, Functional. Recommended!
I received this espresso set from the Vine program, to use with my newly purchased (from the thrift store) Estro Vapore espresso machine! (I’m no espresso expert, so take this review with a grain of salt, but I’m an “enthusiast,” I suppose!)Overall, this is a really nice little set! The tamper feels quite solid, is attractive, and works well. The little “stirrer” tool is also nice looking and functional – definitely helps distribute the grounds evenly. I haven’t really had a chance to use the puck screen but it seems nice enough!I recommend this set, it appears to be a good value, it’s attractive, and it works well!

I was unable to use this coffee tamper because it was too big for my machine. But that is my fault for not knowing the right size.

Good quality
I made an error in determining the diameter of my espresso machine. The dimension is supposed to be measured at the inside of the portafilter basket, not the portafilter itself.That said, it does appear to be of good quality. It has some weight to it and the wood handle is smooth, which gives it a nice feel while holding it. I like that it has a scale on the side, so that the pressure can be reduced and consistently applied between shots.The mesh puck looks like the one I use, just bigger and with a different logo that was probably laser engraved. I like these because they keep the coffee from getting washed back up into the head group.Iâve never used one of these wire things. I always use freshly ground coffee and never have had a problem with coffee clumping together in a way that interferes with loading it into the portafilter basket. Seems like a solution to a non-existent problem.The tamper itself is so nice, I may end up turning it on a lathe so that I can use it with my 51mm machine.

Nice looking but a little clunky operation.
Trying to tamp in the coffee grounds with the tool that came with the machine is a bit of a joke so I went looking and came across this.-It came in very well packaged and in great shape.-Seems very well made and is easy on the hands to hold.-I do have to point out that it is a bit silly to have a 54mm filter and a 53mm tamper though as they wonât do you much good.-So the spring action on the tamper itself is a bit on the âclunkyâ side, not as smooth as some others Iâve tried.-The distribution tool is cute but I personally would prefer something a bit bigger to hold. That and I feel like the inside is some sort of cork material as when I opened it the first time there were a bunch of cork-like bits that fell out.-The tamper mat is of very nice quality and is super helpful in keeping things from sliding around.-Very easy on the hands to hold and use.-Unlike plastic ones the stainless steel doesnât have the static issue with the grounds as much and makes for a smoother puck.On a whole it does look very nice and makes the process easier and simpler.

It’s got a spring and there’s graduated lines, but the thing does not move when pressed down. It’s handsomely made of wood and steel, but doesn’t seem to work as intended. The little prong thing does a good job of moving the grounds around and or out of my grinder.
