These are really cute and were a nice gift component this Christmas. I kept one myself. It works well but I find it very difficult to open.

I have only brewed tea with one (the owl) so far. But I have washed and examined all. I chose the owl because it seemed to have the fewest holes for it’s size, and therefore the one with greatest question on how well it brews. All open easily (if you know how) and close securely. One had a slight bend in the piece that attaches the chain, but that was easily fixed. the hook on all the chains were closed tight, but again, easily fixed. Overall, I’m very happy with them, although I wish the scallop shell were a peacock.
