so far so good
I only used this once since purchasing recently. It definitely feels like it is extra sturdy silicone. After reading reviews of similar products, a major complaint was the dripper would collapse on itself while in use. The Vandroop definitely does not. If I remember to come back with an update after months or a year of constant usage, I will try to post. For now, I can tell it will withstand a lot of use.I like that it comes with a set of filters to get you started so it’s one less thing to purchase. The base is wide enough to fit over most standard mugs. Even if push came to shove, it will fit just within one of those plastic to go containers from a restaurant for soup. Though that method may require supervision.Way easier to clean compared to a french press. All the flavor without the residue or watery grounds slipping into the mug. Glad I made this purchase.

Feels nice, not as easy to collapse as others. Not as portable.
This silicone V60 pour over dripper feels like it’s pretty well made. It doesn’t fold as flat as other portable silicon brewers, though it’s a bit more rigid and harder to accidentally collapse during brewing. It also takes the standard V60 filters, so even better if you have those on hand already.The gimmick of being able to invert the cone tip up seems like a nice feature for fitting it overtop some cramped cups, it even has three additional holes at the inversion point to keep water from flowing over the bed of grounds when you use it like that. These secondary drainage holes were looking a little rough though, as if they didn’t quite come out of the mold perfectly. I worry the silicon could tear at those rough edges over time.The holes on the sides are wide enough to clip a carabiner through if your the type to carry it on your camping backpack.The price is a little high compared to other silicon drippers, so between that and the rough edges on a couple drainage holes, I knocked off a star. It’s still cheap enough compared to other solid material brewers that it could be a formidable entry level V60 pour-over brewer.

This is a great dripper for travel or everyday use. I love that it folds up in a stacked way rather than flipped over like some. If they made one that was straight with 3-4 holes straight across the bottom rather than pointed with one hole I would buy 10 of them.

small and flexible for camping
I got this collapsible pour-over coffee maker from Vandroop. I got it to take camping as it collapses relatively small and is made of flexible silicone so it won’t get broken being hauled around or stored in our camping gear.It works as expected. I wish there was a way to pinch the exit hole and allow water to sit in the grounds longer (like a french press), but I found the coffee was good enough just letting it slowly filter through the grounds.It’s not just like my “at home” coffee, but decent. It’s lightweight and looks to be durable, so I’m happy with it.

So happy I found this product. It’s collapsible; it can be tucked away hence saving space and it’s of excellent quality. Also, the filters that came with it are of better design and quality than the MAJOR brand names on the market. I will be ordering their filters from now on.

The silicone is thicker than some others we have tried which is nice as it feels sturdier and doesnât spill boiling water on you. It also stands up better to other items in the bag rubbing against it if using while camping etc. However, the bottom of the cone sticks out lower than the lip which makes it impossible to let it drain without holding it or touching it while hot. Many cones have the lip at the bottom level with the bottom of the cone to stop this. You can invert the bottom of the cone, but both times we tried, the filter either broke or got clogged up so it just didnât work well for us in that format.

I’ve always been a bit of a coffee enthusiast, and on those days when I’m not using my coffee machine, I’d been making do with a mesh basket filter and paper combo for my pour-over brews. It worked, but deep down I knew it wasn’t ideal. When I finally got this collapsible pour-over dripper, it felt like I’d graduated to the next level. The first thing that struck me was how compact it is â perfect for easy storage. The starter set of filters was helpful as I was able to dive right in without spending money on a bag of filters just yet. The ribbed design inside really seems to make a difference in the flow of water through the grounds, and I’ve noticed an improvement in the taste of my coffee. It’s like I’ve unlocked a new level in my coffee-making skills. While I’m still learning the ropes of proper pour-over technique, this little accessory makes me feel like I’m doing my coffee beans justice. I’m also happy to see that the filters aren’t expensive!
