I use these for gifting to friends, and for low volume coffee sales.You should use a proper heat sealing machine, but you can get away with a flat-iron (the ones for hair styling) in a pinch. The seal holds tight if done correctly. The sides seals are strong, I tore a few bags apart to test them and the seams are really good.Construction is paper – foil – polypropylene. Paper on the outside (obviously), and PP on the inside. This gives you 100% barrier from bright light, and seal from air. The valve is one-way and designed to let CO2 escape.I appreciate the rounded corners. The bags are stiff, and it keeps you from getting poked while handling them. Customers would probably appreciate that too.The tear-off strip is reliable, I tested a bunch of them and they all worked fine. The zip-lock style closure also works well and is good quality, no issues in closing or opening it. The opening (mouth) of the bag is somewhat smaller just due to the design, but since these bags are single-use and you are pouring content *out* of the mouth, it actually works as an advantage.They are stable and don’t fall over when full of product (coffee beans). Standard printer labels stick well to the bags. The 1 lb bags easily hold 1 lb of roasted coffee, 2 lb bags hold 2 lbs.

Nice looking and they seal really well
These are the perfect size for condensing from a 5lb bag of whole bean coffee into nine individually sealed packages. I also like the pretty shade of blue used for these bags. These 8oz bags store perfectly in my pantry and they’re excellent for travelling. Great buy and the price is more than reasonable.
