Well built, not a thermos
I’ve broken quite a few French press coffee makers over the years, and I wanted to avoid plastic in any form, so I gave this a go. I think press coffee makers are generally the best tasting, and this is in keeping with that.Pros: well built, filter works well and is snug to the carafe. Keeps coffee warmer longer than a regular glass carafe. I love the metal handle — I can flip it and clean out the grounds quickly. I would say it’s the best one I’ve owned. And it was a reasonable value to boot.Not really a con, but while it will keep your coffee warmer, longer, not for hours, because the lid isn’t vacuum sealed. That makes sense, and no one promised me a thermos.It’s a keeper. And with the durability, I look forward to having it for a long time.

You might look at this photo and think, “Why would someone give a 5 star review to a friend press that looks so haggard??” We LOVE this French Press!! I was looking for the measurements to buy filters and I saw the buy date and was seriously impressed we’ve had it for so long and it’s still works like new. SIX YEARS! We take this every vacation we go on. This has been out of the country 4x. On countless camping trips and hotel stays. Thousands of dishwashing cycles and it’s still works like new. It holds the heat in great and it’s pretty much indestructible if you’ve ever seen airports handle luggage, LoL. Obviously the paint is almost completely gone, but like I said this thing has taken a beating. Definitely buy the stainless one if you care about how it looks. Just wanted to hop on here and recommend an actual great product.

If you like French presses and good coffee this is the best!!! It makes the equivalent of ten cups of coffee from my Mr.coffee, but tastes 100 times better. Holds heat for a long time and is sturdy. No more kids breaking my coffee maker! And the coffee is so good the seven year old nephew likes the coffee! Who imagine caffeine would help kids with ADD focus! And I get bonus points for being the cool uncle who lets him drink black coffee with me! lol

Does what it needs to do, makes coffee
Well made and makes good coffee. My only complaint is the noise it makes when plunging to coffee, the metal on metal noise is very akin to fingernails on a chalkboard. Coffee stays hot and it’s easy to clean, comes with spare filter screen so a good deal.

I’ve bought a lot of coffee-makers. Coffee is important to me. I’ll spend whatever to get that quality one-of-a kind taste to start another day. I’ve bought many French press coffee-makers too. Some of the so-called best are a disappointment. Usually German-made things are good. I bought a French-press that was apparently a German owned company but was not any good at all. The plunger didn’t fit well and so you had to press and press and then suddenly it would go down but spray your stove and back-splash (and my hand too with hot-water until I learned what a piece of garbage this “German” French press was and so gave it to Good will)…This made the best quality coffee I’ve had in a very long time. I wanted to be able to make two “Venti” sized cups in the morning and this is perfect. Two great big cups get me going. It is better thought out in every way too. the lid has a marker with an arrow showing where you rotate it to “open” and you pour out hot HOT coffee, and then you rotate the arrow around again to close it up so heat does not escape. THis is great and helps keep the coffee really HOT like i like it to be. the plunger goes down easily and SMOOTHLY and doesn’t spray coffee all over your stove and maybe you. It’s just better thought-out, engineered, sized, and it POURS cleanly….it is a great product and well worth every cent.Many said the black finish comes off badly right away. I haven’t had mine long enough to have a comment on that. I don’t know why they painted it black as stainless steel looks fine to me and most prefer the look of pure stainless anyway….But I care about ease-of-use, flavor, etc and so didn’t care that it got so many negative comments on the black color. No review complained about the great features that I also look for so I took the chance and I’m so glad I did because I LOVE THIS COFFEE-MAKER!!!Also, I’ve also just put a large fry-pan of water on simmer and place the French-Press on that and it really keeps the coffe piping HOT. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT! it’s value for the quality coffee you’ll get out of it.

Love It!
I love this french press! It is heavier than the glass one I replaced because the plastic pieces kept breaking. It is a little smaller but having all stainless steel pieces makes up for that. I wash it by hand rather than in the dishwasher since I read reviews that state the clear coating flakes off and so far itâs still as pretty as out of the box. Makes delicious coffee and works great keeping coffee grounds out of final results. I even grind mine a little finer than recommended to get as much flavor out as possible.

Solid French press that gets the job done.
It is a solid French press that gets the job done. Its metal construction is durable and the box includes a spare filter screen. The double-wall design helps keep coffee warm, though don’t expect thermos-level heat retention. It works great with regular pre-ground coffee, and cleanup is a breeze. It’s the perfect size for my desk – I can just brew and sip while working. Easy to recommend.

Bought this as a replacement to many glass cafetière which have been broken over the years. Good quality, sturdy cafetière in a matt black finish. Replacement filters are a real bonus as means you donât need to reorder when they inevitably wear out. The fit of the filter is very tight so I have had no problem at all with any stray coffee grounds escaping during plunging. It also keeps the coffee warm much longer than a traditional glass cafetière which is a real plus point if you want a second cup. Although dishwasher safe, I would recommend hand washing over the dishwasher on the whole as th3 black coating has come off at a few places after dishwashing. Merely cosmetic of course but so easy to wash by hand that itâs not a big effort and will maintain itâs nice look for longer I feel. I am converted and will not be returning to a glass version again!

I liked everything about it. You canât chip it or break it, itâs super-easy to clean. I often make cold-pressed coffee and itâs perfect for that as well as being a conventional caffetierre.
