In love! It is smaller but perfect for what I wanted. Itâs beautiful and looks great! Definitely donât pick up the handle without proper protection because it does get hot!

4 stars for a decor piece
So thankfully this seller did not mislabel this a tetsubin, as many have of the same design (but a difference to a true tetsubin). This teapot is for decor, or steeping a small cup of tea, probably about 6 ounces actually. I should probably give it 3 stars for the steeping, but it is so beautiful, I cannot downgrade it.The steeping basket is cylindrical shaped, meaning not bowl shaped, meaning it does not bowl-out or flare-out a bit to allow tea leaves to have some floating-volatility to allow the swirling action to cause more flavor release. In other words, a loose leaf tea should be able to float freely within a pot as you pour the water over it. This allows more release of flavor. But the basket for this teapot is tiny and a straight cylinder shape, a small diameter. It is a small teapot certainly, but they could have chosen a better strainer “cup” to sit on the rim, that would have allowed more movement.NOTE YOU CANNOT USE THIS AS A KETTLE. This is FOR STEEPING ONLY.The inner enamel will end up cracking under the heat of being on a stove.”But there are cast iron dutch ovens” you say — Yes, certainly there are. And they are made with far thicker and higher quality enamel. If you use this on your stove you will soon or eventually be without a teapot. But then you could use it still as I do: as decor.Side note paragraph on true tetsubin kettles:A TRUE TETSUBIN (as you often see this type labeled in the USA) do NOT have enamel on the inside. That means a true tetsubin is indeed a water kettle. Then they use other ceramic or clay teapots for their flavor enhancing properties.A true tetsubin is used for the added flavor it gives water as you bring it to temperature (usually 175F, far under boiling, or what are called “fish eyes” where the little bubbles sit on the bottom of the kettle…. unless a tea such as white tea that requires a lesser temperature than that). Then because the tetsubin is unlined (it is protected cast iron on the inside, using a resin of a particular type that works like you oil a cutting board — an oil that protects the surface from rust), the tetsubin user still makes sure it dries from the heat of the stove after it is emptied of water, to further prevent rust. This teapot:This is a tiny teapot suitable for about 6 ounces of tea, perhaps you could squeeze 8 out of it. But I recommend you do not use the strainer basket, instead strain over your cup with another slightly larger strainer. In summary: this is a beautiful teapot, made for for its handmade-appearance and surface design more than steeping tea. It makes a beautiful decor piece, and a so-so teapot.Signed, an avid American shincha and sencha drinker, among many other types of teas

I love cast ironâ¦love this mini teapot
Yes, this is a mini teapot! But so cute and functional!!For my use, I filled with boiling water, to warm the cast iron. Then dumped out and added more hot water to brew tea. Because of pre warming it kept the tea hot for second cup! It was wonderful! It holds enough for 2 cups of tea.My only issue is that I wished it came with a base or something to sit it on.

Very small
This kettle is definitely cast iron, but it’s very small. It’s good for making enough boiling water for 1 to 2 cups n that’s it. Kinda heavy, easy to use though. Just don’t leave water in it, that will cause it to rust. Very easy to use though n gets hot super fast. Easy to clean. Not bad on the wallet either.

A bit pricey and very small
These teapot is shockingly small. It’s definitely a one cup only pot with stricter instructions that need to be noted before use. Though small, it’s definitely weighty but note that the lid gently sits on top of the pot and isn’t secured in any fashion. However the wire tea insert is a nice touch. I feel like this is a bit pricey given how small it is.
