The Truth About This Mushroom Coffeeâ¦
I’ve been a fan of Mushroom Coffee for 8 years now and have tried almost everything out there. I have learned 4 very important things to look out for when choosing the best mushroom coffee:1. Taste2. Dosage3. Quality4. ValueHereâs the breakdown of my thoughts on Four Sigmatic Ground Coffee:1) TASTE:Overall taste is excellent – the beans are roasted nicely, and the flavor is smooth with a hint of chocolate notes, so Iâm very happy with the taste.2) DOSAGE:This part is extremely important, because if youâre going to incorporate functional mushrooms into your routine you need to know how much of each mushroom you are putting in your body and this can be the hardest information to derive from many brands. In doing my own research Iâve found that you want at least 500mg of one strain to see any benefits. Four Sigmatic only uses 2 mushrooms, Lionâs Mane and Chaga. However, the dosage amount is not stated anywhere on the packaging, and because itâs just coffee beans, I canât even begin to guess. It could be fractions of what a normal dose should be.3) QUALITY:Four Sigmatic uses 100% fruiting bodies, which is the purest form of mushroom extract and what I look for in my mushroom coffee.4) VALUE: The quality seems good, but there is no clear statement on the dosage of mushroom extract per serving which makes the value very low for me.Right now, I use Lucid as my main morning routine coffee and Four Sigmatic on my downtime as maintenance. Four sigmatic makes me feel good, however I feel much more effects with Lucid because 1) It delivers a much higher dose of 4 mushrooms at 2,000mg total 2) It has a nootropic stack (fuel for your brain) 3) It uses 100% fruiting body mushroom extract (the highest quality possible). Plus, it tastes great. Four sigmatic will stay in my rotation for chill days because itâs cheap, but I turn to Lucid when I need to operate at peak performance. Was absolutely loving my Four Sigmatic mushroom coffee with Lions Mane & Chaga.Unfortunately, the first delivery arrived with a small tear in the coffee bag. Disappointing, as I was looking forward to trying it and since this damaged packaging would likely have affected the taste of the coffee I chose to dispose of it on my compost heap.The damaged bag was swiftly refunded by Amazon. Waited another day for my replacent order to arrive. Having been a Lavazza or Illy coffee drinker for a number of years I did not expect this coffee with mushrooms to taste anywhere as good. Well what a surprise! Using an espresso machine it makes a fantastic coffee with a great crema, resembling a well poured pint of Guinness.Benefits of Lions Mane & Chaga, maybe too early to say after 4 coffees. Will update review if any noticeable effect is observed but rest assured there is no mushroom taste and I would definitely purchase again. ðHave had this on subscribe & save but had to cancel due to the repeated problem with damaged bags. Some of the bags I purchased are “vacuum type sealed” IE. The bag comes as a firm block without any air in the packaging, but have now received multiple orders that are apparently damaged and air is present. Any coffee lover will know that exposure to air will cause the coffee to degrade and change the flavour. Disappointed at this price as I loved this coffee. Am now looking for an alternative to Four Sigmatic or maybe I just need to find an alternative supplier to Amazon that stores perishable goods correctly? ð¤
