Filter: Hardened Stainless Steel. Not a mesh screen.

Say goodbye to those mesh screen filters. This stainless steel filter was built specifically for cold brew. The 200-micron holes resist clogging and allow water to circulate more freely, resulting in a strong cup of coffee. Plus, the filter’s walls are sturdy and dent-resistant, so they won’t tear or fray like those mesh screens.

Food Grade Silicone Cap

The unique cap design keeps grounds sealed inside the filter, so you don’t risk them spilling into your coffee. It also works as a shock absorber to prevent rattling and protect the metal filter. The cap is made of food-grade silicone and is BPA free.

Compatible with Wide-Mouth Mason Jars

The do-it-all Mason jar serves 3 different purposes: coffee brewer + coffee cup + coffee storage. The Rumble Jar filter is recessed inside the Mason jar (instead of being perched on top), and that allows the Mason jar’s legendary seal to work its magic and keep your coffee truly leakproof and airtight. And if you happen to break a jar, the good news is they’re easy to find and cheap to replace. No more fiddling around with fragile proprietary glass containers that might cost a fortune or be impossible to replace.

A BETTER FILTER THAT MAKES STRONGER COLD BREW COFFEE: Cold brew experts designed this filter to make professional-quality cold brew in a Mason jar. Our 18/8 stainless steel filter features 200 micron holes, the ideal size for allowing water to circulate and optimal extraction to occur with coarse-ground coffee. It’s a radical improvement to those first-generation brewers with fine mesh screen filters, which are more suited to brewing hot coffee with finer grounds. You’ll taste the difference.
KEEPS COFFEE FRESHER THAN THE COMPETITION: Oxidation is the enemy of fresh coffee, so the key is to keep air out. Unlike traditional sit-on-top mesh filters, our next-generation filter rests fully inside the Mason jar, allowing the Mason jar’s lid to maintain its famous airtight seal. This keeps your cold brew fresher. The intact seal also means the jar stays leakproof, so it’s truly portable and means an end to coffee leaking coffee all over your hands, kitchen and clothes.
NOVEL DESIGN BELOVED BY ITS KICKSTARTER BACKERS: The patent-pending capped-filter design features an ultra-sturdy, dent-resistant 18/8 stainless steel filter, with your choice of color for the food-grade silicone cap. The cap keeps grounds sealed inside the filter, while also working as a shock absorber that prevents rattling and protects the filter. Now you can say goodbye to those flimsy mesh filters that can produce weaker cold brew and easily fray, rip and get clogged up.
BREWING PROCESS IS SIMPLER THAN EVER: Professional-quality cold brew takes less than a minute to prepare at home. After adding coffee grounds and water, just tighten the lid and rotate the jar horizontally/sideways 2 or 3 times. This “rumble” step activates the brewing process. Then let it sit overnight and your cold brew will be ready in the morning, tasting like a barista made it. Cleanup is even faster than the prep.
COMPATIBLE WITH STANDARD 2-QUART/64OZ MASON JARS (NOT INCLUDED): Product includes a stainless steel filter with food-grade silicone cap and a 100% cotton filter-bag that can be used as an optional second stage of filtration if you brew with fine grounds (remember: coarse grounds are best for cold brew). The stated 2-quart capacity represents the volume of the Mason jar, not the volume of the filter. BPA free. Dishwasher safe.

Customers say

Customers find the coffee filter easy to use and providing good value for money. They find it simple to make great cold brew coffee or tea, saving time and effort. The filter is easy to clean and has a good fit. While some customers appreciate the filter quality, others have differing opinions on the build quality.

some of the best coffee I’ve ever made
First thing first – I love coffee, but specifically I love iced coffee. Making iced drinks at home was challenging/a hassle because i don’t want to invest in a big, bulky coffee maker with iced functions, and coffee pods. I feel they are horrible for the environment and are so wasteful of plastic (like the bottles of cold brew sold at the grocery store, as well). Because of my desire to make the best coffee with the least amount of waste, all of the coffee accoutrement I’ve invested in is metal, portable, reusable, and durable, like my bialetti moka pot percolator, and a hand coffee grinder for fresh ground beans.I decided on investing in the rumble jar too, to have unlimited access to iced coffee without a big financial investment or environmental impact. Let me say – the investment was SO worth the $20. I will bring this with me now wherever I go, along with my percolator. Not only is it an awesomely reusable option, it’s durable, VERY easy to clean, and gave me the best cup of iced coffee I’ve had in a long time. It really feels like I have a full barista set up in my house with none of the equipment. At night, I grind fresh beans, dump them in the rumble jar/mason jar combo, agitate, and let it sit. (The agitation is really cool to see, also!!) It’s such a low effort for high output of a large amount of excellent coffee. One mason jar for me is good for two days of coffee. It’s strong, tastes amazing, and is so simple. From my perspective, it will be worth the purchase after 3 uses because I will have saved 3 plastic cold brew bottles from the grocery store. I am eager to see how well the metal will hold up, but the metal looks so much more durable than some of the dupes I’ve seen on Amazon or even Aldi.If you are searching for a reusable and SIMPLE way to make iced coffee all summer, here is your new thing!!! If you are searching for a coffee-making option for traveling/camping/eco friendly-ness, INVEST here.

Quick clean-up; use with pitchers too
This filter is designed for use with a mason jar, but I ordered it hoping to use it with a larger pitcher. It works! My pitcher’s neck is a little wider than a mason jar’s, so I need to be careful with the filter lid to make sure it doesn’t slip off the filter (I think the seal could be a little tighter), but it’s still very easy to use.Way less mess than just mixing the grounds and water together and filtering later. My partner thinks there’s a slight taste difference because the grounds don’t come into as much contact with the water when using the filter, but I can’t notice a difference, and did I mention the quick clean-up?!The filter is also great for iced tea. I haven’t tried this yet, but you could use it for infusing spirits, too (you’d still want to use something with a finer mesh, like cheesecloth, to get all the stray bits).

    My favorite cold brew maker
I loved my first Rumble Jar so much that I bought another one! We use them every day to make cold brew in the warmer months, so now I always have a clean one ready to go. It’s easy to use and the cold brew comes out great with minimal sediment at the bottom of the jar, and I love that it works with the mason jars we already have. The only thing that I would improve, if I had to give constructive feedback, would be that it is a little hard to see the fill lines on the jar. But this is not an issue for me because I weigh my coffee beans with a scale to get the perfect amount for every batch, which is what I would recommend everyone do anyway. I recommend this product to everyone!

Love the way it makes my coldbrew! Its well made and well thought out. Simply works great!
Makes cold brew coffee (or tea… but, why would you do that? hehe) The sturdy stainless fine mesh tube is solid enough to endure my grip while trying to get the spent grounds out and fine enough to give you a really fast brewing time. I really like using this tool. Should last for years if you’re relatively gentle on it.My tip: I clean mine 2x with soap, so no coffee oils or residue in the carafe or filter remains on their surfaces. I only use RO water in my foods. The more clean, the less bitter the coffee. And, unless you’re into bitter coffee that could resurrect the dead (or at least comatose), just fill the grounds to the middle of the tube with your favorite whole bean, darker roasted coffee, ground to a coarse grind granule, ground just before you use it. Shake the jar lightly (I swirl the water instead) and let it sit on the counter overnight. In the morning, add ice and your favorite sweetened creamer product (I use MCT oils, unsweetened almond milk and a teaspoon of agave) in a 16 oz glass. Is your mouth watering for that coffee like mine is? 😀

The rumble jar is so quick and easy to use it should be used by anyone making cold brew coffee. The clean up is simple. It’s one of the best products I have bought. I have had no need to use the cloth filter bag as the cold brew from the filter is perfect.Fill course grind coffee into the filter.( I like mine strong so I fill up to the 2nd mark and place in kilner jar. )Fill with bottled spring water then brew for 24hrs in the fridge or 12hrs on the counter. Easy as that.Buy it and you will not be disappointed.
