Excellent in more ways than you could think of.
My old coffee grinder would not grind coffee fine enough for espresso anymore. So I was searching for a new grinder. For what it does the price is excellent. I was considering higher end grinders but decided to give this one a try. If it doesn’t work as expected I could always return it. I’m glad I did and saved a couple of hundred dollars. The grinds on the left are for my espresso and the ones on the right for my Techniworm Moccamaster. The grinder comes with many extras. There are two size dosing rings, 53mm & 58mm for your portafilter. A 53mm & 58 mm cradle that holds your portafilter for dosing directly into it. Cleaning brushes, a metal scoop and a container with a silicone cover for dispensing the coffee for your coffee machine, whether it’s a drip, pour over, French press, Aero Press or cold brew. The machine is very quiet compared to my other one. Also no static and no coffee grounds flying all over the place. The best extra included is the bellows. After grinding coffee there is always coffee grounds in the shoot. Put the bellows (coffee grounds residue cleaner) on top of the bean hopper, put the lid on and pump it a few times and watch all the excess grounds come out. A lot of high end grinders don’t include the bellows and you will have to purchase them separately. My portafilters ribs were too thick so I couldn’t use the dosing ring that came with it or the metal dosing ring that I have. However the way it disperses grounds into the portafilter I really don’t need it. I just have to fill it, level it up and fill it up again till I have the correct amount of grounds. You can set it grind 1cup up to 12 cups. You can also set it to time mode 10-60 seconds. There is also a pulse mode when you are using the portafilter. On the finest settings my coffee grounds were very fine like powder. The one in the photo was set at 5 and made a very good cup of espresso.Removing the bean hopper and the upper burr is the simplest thing I have ever done. Very easy to clean compared to other grinders I have used.Don’t let the price scare you away. Give it a try and if you don’t like it you can always send it back. Chances are you’ll keep it because it is a great inexpensive coffee grinder.

I’ve never had a coffee grinder that triggered a pavlovian response
People usually review coffee grinders for how well they grind the beans or other things related to their function. And while this grinder does all of those things and does them very well, there’s something about the way this grinder sounds that is so satisfying. It’s an odd thing to even care about but it really bumps this thing up to that fifth star in my opinion. But just to add some opinions on the performance so that this review is actually useful, this thing basically goes all the way down to grinding fine enough that you could do Turkish coffee with it. And the non-static claim about the catch bin is surprisingly accurate. Here’s what it looked like after two cups worth of grounds and a simple swish, poor to clean it out.

Simple, fast, consistent grind…also, some static
This electric burr grinder is quiet, fast and grinds consistently each time. I leave my beans in the hopper and from Time to time I have to give the unit a shake to get the beans to flow down to the grinders. The manual also recommends giving the top several little taps to clear out the grounds. I use the grounds container beneath and there Is quite a bit of static along the sides and coffee Grounds on the countertop after use.

    Awesome!
Unbelievable! I had been using a grinder with a blade that spins around, not a burr grinder. This grinder makes my espresso taste twice as good! I’m not kidding. I was very surprised. It is a great little machine. (Well, I’ve only had it for a day and four espressos.) It has great features. And you feel like a professional, inserting the portafilter and having grounds dispensed into it in the portion size and grind that you chose. So much easier than what I was doing before. And soooo much better. Highly recommended. Update: A few days later, it’s still awesome and I should have mentioned that it is quiet–with my old grinder, I wore noise-reducing headphones–and anti-static. I have another burr grinder that I never use because it is so staticy and otherwise crappy. I love this grinder. (Okay, they say online that it’s professional, but it says in the instructions that it’s for home use. Interestingly, no mention anywhere on the packaging or instructions where it’s made.)After having used it for a month, I still love this grinder because it makes my coffee better. But I have found one quirk about it: Using the portafilter cradle, all you have to do is press the portafilter to the back of the cradle and grinding starts automatically. However this can be a little messy, so a dosing ring has been supplied. The instructions say to use the dosing ring when grinding directly into a portafilter. HOWEVER, when using the dosing ring you have to push the start button to start grinding! Oh well, it’s still a great grinder, especially for the price.

Two reasons this is the best one
This model is sold in many countries under many resellers each with their own branding on it. But it whomever you buy it from it wins because of two features: 1) a rubber bellows which blows grounds and dust out of the chute, and 2) a large receptacle area that fits a standard cone filter. So you never have to keep beans in the hopper nor use the supplied receptacle, you can put the right amount of beans up top, put your drip cone or basket under the chute, and grind directly into it while blowing 100% of the coffee out which ensure no stale grounds in the next cup. Brilliant.

Have used twice and it is working great. Fairly quiet, and no issues.
It is stylish, compact, makes very little noise and hope it lasts a lot longer than its predecessor.

Grinder starts smoking after several use in 3months
I received this item 3 months ago, and whenever I used it to grind our coffee beans it was working perfect. We have not use it as much since our business just started online. When I tried to grind my coffee and put it on espresso option, I started to smell like the wire is burning and I saw smoke coming out so I stopped it and unplugged the grinder. I waited about 2 minutes and plugged it again then turned it on to grind the beans one more time then started smoking again.

Anyone who claims this grinder is loud, hasn’t used a loud grinder like the de longhi cheap burr grinder.I just got this Zulay and did a few test grinds – from fairy dust powder to coarse chunks and everything in between, and pretty consistent. I’m not an espresso fan but this looks like a good espresso grind.Easy to assemble and clean.I’m not a fan of the digital controls and display because that’s usually a failure point that renders the mechanicals useless, which is why I took the additional warranty. But as they are, the controls are easy to use and the display is adequate. And anyone who complains that the number of cups adjustment on the display is inaccurate, it must be stated again: that adjustment depends on the grind (fine to coarse) and on your preference in taste. So it’s better to use it as an approximate guide for how much to grind, and have a container to put any extra in until the next brew.

Had to replace my 10 year old Breville that I loved because it was so reliable and quiet. I searched for a long time for something that would be decent quality and a good price, and finally decided to give this one a try.Am I ever happy I did! I don’t make espresso so I won’t comment on that, I just like a quite, solid grinder that can make me a nice fresh and consistent pot of coffee every morning. This thing can do exactly that. My old one was slightly quieter but this one is just fine, not like the shardor one my parents have that sounds like an amplified screaming banshee…What I love most about it is the little things. The bin actually is static free and the rubber compression ring or whatever it’s called that goes on top of the hopper to pressurize and clean out all the coffee grounds left in the mechanism so they aren’t trapped in there getting stale is just a fantastic idea.Even the story behind the brand that they include in the box seems genuine, and you get the feeling that they really want to make solid and reliable products, not just cheap crap to make a quick buck. I think they have accomplished that goal with this grinder.
