I’ve been itching to get a manual grinder since I got my cold brew pitcher.I picked up the WYN grinder and played around with it as soon as I got it. The grinder comes with a nifty storage case, microfiber cloth, duster, and 1/8 cup measuring cup.The grinder itself has a good weight to it and feels solidly constructed. It’s about the size of a standard pepper mill. The instructions basically explain that the more clockwise you turn the 3-point dial on the bottom, the finer the grind and conversely, the more coarse. The instructions explain this setting as a “grid” but that’s where it’s very unclear. For a coarse grind, it recommends a “grid” of 25-30, but the dial goes from 0-11. I decided to back out the dial knob as far as it would go, and then reconnect and go a few clicks to ensure it would stay. This absolutely got me the coarse grind I was going for. (See photo where it looks nearly unscrewed)The grinder only holds 1/8 of a cup of whole beans, so if you have a lot to do, then be prepared to spend a little time. As you grind, you do hear the beans getting ground up and the aromas are mouth watering. Once all the beans have been ground, you feel the resistance of the handle go to almost nothing, and it’s time to unscrew the base and enjoy your effort, which looks phenomenal. My guess is the 1/8 cup was designed for espresso, single serve or something, so getting more done will take some time.Pros:Solid constructionGood consistency once you figure out the 0-11 dial indicators dont mean a lot.Comes with cleaning toolsConvenient storage bag for everythingCons:Poor instructions for grind consistency1/8 cup capacity if you want more in your brew

This is a solid grinder with nice machining of the moving parts. The grip texture is a fine grid, feels good in your hand. Wooden turn knob has a nice finish, wood just feels good in your hand. The grinder cap has an inter5sting bevel on it, everything goes together pretty snugly without fighting it.Has all the similar features of other grinders in this form factor. Adjustable courseness, disassemble for cleaning, rubber foot, screw off base. What makes this kit stand out from others are the unique extras. It does have the cleaning brush and drawstring bag. But then they add a barista towel and a measuring cup with a rubber grip. The barista towel is a micro fiber that reminds me a little of the finish on the grinder. For some reason I really like that combination. I definitely like the measuring spoon, rubber grip makes it feel a little more premium. The cleaning brush is basic, but that makes it charming in it’s own way.The WYN (What You Need) brand is pretty clever. I like it as a brand, and I also think it enhances the giftability of this grinder set.Great kit as a minor upgrade to someone with an older less refined grinder, or someone just getting into home grind coffees.Three thumbs up. This kit feels authentic and like it was developed with thought and care.

I love this manual coffee grinder! It’s compact enough to toss in a backpack, making it ideal for hikes or outdoor adventures, which I enjoy from time to time. However, I find myself keeping it within arm’s reach at home for daily use. It’s perfect for grinding fresh beans to a coarse consistency for my French press or a finer grind for my Chemex pour-over.The quality and design of this hand grinder are top-notch. The stainless steel burr provides a consistent grind, and the adjustable settings give you full control over the grind size. I also appreciate the thoughtful inclusion of accessories like the barista towel, scoop, brush, and velvet bag – everything feels professional and well-made. The 1/8 cup measurement is spot-on, giving you an accurate portion right from the start.

I work a lot – a lot – and weird hours. Early mornings, late nights, often both. I frequently want coffee at times like 3:30 AM, but I can’t fire up an electric burr grinder at times like 3:30 AM without being reminded, sternly, that most other people in the house *don’t* want coffee at times like 3:30 AM. This manual grinder is, for the most part, silent. I’m sure I could still irritate people if I stood over their beds grinding coffee with it at times like 3:30 AM, but they’re not going to notice me using it in the kitchen. Brewing coffee makes considerably more noise, and they don’t notice that, either. My minor gripes are that storage is cumbersome – you can’t realistically store this thing assembled without taking up an absurd amount of room, and the two pieces don’t nest at all. I have another similar grinder that has a fold-down arm that’s nice for storage, but the arm itself feels like it might break soon and I cut myself on it once, so convenience aside, I prefer this design. I wish that it came with a silicone end-cap for the end that’s open when stored. I guess I’d also prefer if it had a removable base, or something like that, to make standing it up easier while while grinding beans or not in use. Those are really my only “complaints” and most grinders of this variety suffer from the same design issues – aside from those quibbles this thing is awesome. The grinder itself is easy to use – the long crank arm on this style of grinder is way, way easier to use than manual grinders I have used in the past, and the large knob at the end of the arm helps a lot. The knurling is also useful for keeping hold of it without being painfully aggressive. Adjustment is very easy and the grind itself seems pretty consistent – no issues with boulders and dust that I’ve seen. Disassembly and cleaning are a breeze. The conical burr seems to be well made and there are no obvious manufacturing flaws on either half. Did I mention that it’s nearly silent? I probably make more noise while operating it than it makes grinding the beans.I really like this grinder and would *definitely* buy it again. Easy 6 stars out of 5 from me.
