Like that the wood insulates my hand from the heat of a cup of tea. And, the portion allows for the rest of the brew to stay warm in the hot. Dropped it, quite unexpectedly, the other day. It survived without crack or any damage. There is a stain from having left tea in the cup for a while without drinking it. Just fill it to the extent one expects to finish drinking in short order and there should be no similar issues. Much more affordable than ceramic cups sold with tetsubin pots – and survived a fall.
