Not sure these make a big difference though
This unit is fine quality, no complaints there. Nice. However, I’m not convinced these really make a noticeable difference in espresso. I still use mine because I have it, but really, not sure it does much.

I use it everyday to distribute my grinds and it works very well! Bought one for my friends as well and they have said nothing but great things. I appreciate the little stand as well as extra needles.

Aber die Nadeln gehen eigentlich nicht kaput, wenn man den Nadelkopf immr sorgfältig in den Standfuß zurückführt.

It came with the extra ones in a package as shown. The material is a sort of thin and light metal which makes it feel a bit cheap to me, like something thicker or heavier would seem more robust. It’s quite dainty and delicate seeming but it does feel solid enough to hold up to daily use, it’s only the needles you need to be careful with for being so very thin. Much thinner than the makeshift one I was using involving a cork and thin sewing needles! In use it does a good job of distributing the grinds and it’s long enough to reach the bottom of the deeper basket of the Flair Signature. So far no regrets whatsoever!

For those who do not know what this tool does:The Weiss Distribution Technique (WDT) is a distribution method for espresso making, by which you use the tool to stir the coffee while it sits in the portafilter. You should use a portafilter funnel of the same size to avoid spilling grinds. The stirring action breaks up clumps and evens out the density of coffee within the puck. The result is reduced channeling and more even extractions.Who needs this tool:Those without a conical burr grinder, where the oil and variety of grind sizing may cause clumping, will benefit from this tool. Those with a decent conical burr grinder will find minimal benefit from this tool. I’m using a Breville Pro and do not see a huge improvement myself, for example.Quality:The build quality of this tool is excellent. You can add from one to seven needles, with many folks saying three is the sweet spot for best distribution. I’ve been using it for over a month and none of the needles have bent. The stand is solid aluminum and well-made, but it doubles as a protector of the needles. I just clean with a quick rinse and a wipe before returning it to its stand.Outcome:I did not realize most of the info above until after purchase. So my puck is solid, the pull is clean, and my coffee tastes great with a Breville Pro. However, this tool has a minimal amount to do with that. It is a worthwhile tool for those with a lower-end grinder, especially non-Burr grinders, and it is aesthetically-pleasing and well-made, which is why I rate it 5 stars overall. It also is of good value compared to more expensive variants.

I kind of went down a deep dive researching these WDT (Weiss Distribution Technique) tools, and I have to say, this one hits the sweet spot! The needle size is just right, and the shape is spot on for what I need. Plus, it’s a nice perk that you can remove and replace the needles. I’ve tried using needles and bobby pins in the past, but they were too thick and just ended up creating their own channels—talk about a brewing disaster! Now, here’s the twist: even though it comes with seven needles installed (and more replacements), I find it a bit overkill. With all those needles, it just traps the grinds in the center, pushing stuff around like it’s playing a game of “don’t let the coffee escape.” So, I stick with just three needles in a triangle formation for optimal distribution. Pro tip: don’t forget to adjust the depth as you use it to ensure you’re getting the best coverage of your coffee grounds! The build quality is actually pretty impressive. It feels like well-constructed metal components that could survive a small espresso war. Plus, it’s more affordable than some of those fancy options out there—because who needs a second mortgage for great coffee? It looks quite nice on my counter, and the little stand is a handy extra touch.Overall, if you’re looking to up your espresso game and avoid the chaos of uneven distribution, this WDT tool is worth considering. Just remember: less is sometimes more when it comes to needles!

Awesome Meion Stirrer as it’s metal and sturdy. It works exactly as it should and is made of high quality materials. This does exactly what it needs to do and ships with extra needles which I don’t even see ever needing. Very good for the price! This will be more effective and easier to use when used in conjunction with a dosing funnel. The purpose of using this is to break up any clumps of ground coffee in your portafilter thus avoiding channeling by ensuring there are no voids or uneven clumps of coffee which would adversely affect the extraction of your espresso through the portafilter.

This product looks great and gets the job done. With that being said, I wish it was a bit heavier, because I find myself knocking it over very easily!
