    Think expresso cups…
If u havnt been drinkn tea for some time, u may wonder why on earth would anyone want a tiny teacup?!? Well, besides the authentic Japanese & Chinese tea ceremonies held w/ tiny cups, the main advantage of small sipping cups, is u can REALLY taste the tea w/o sugar, the subtle flavors in each type of tea u may try.The other benefit is it cools down faster, esp for black teas, which require boiling temp. If i place blk tea in an average cup, i have to wait for at least 10min to cool down w/o burning my lips. The Japanese & Chinese sip tea this way b/c drinkn tea is meditative for them. In comparison to Americans, we gulp down beverages w/ large cups. We’re always in a rush.In the picture provided, u can see the size vs. my 2 other cups. The red is 16oz, the middle cup is 7oz. The info states the cups are 2oz, but to me it feels like ~3oz, like expresso cups. Either way, the cups are good quality w/ a nice glaze. They were also packed well, i was worried b/c some other ppl’s arrived cracked. So far, these are the best sippy teacups i’ve ordered, others aren’t glazed well or the art on em’ look cheap.

Got these as a gift for one of my children. Beautiful and packed in such a way so as not to be able to break in transit.

    Beautiful and well-made
I bought these for my daughter who had to host an authentic Japanese Tea Ceremony for a school project. We didn’t want to use regular mugs and therefore we were quite pleased to find these actual Japanese tea cups. We were delighted with the cups themselves, as well as the beautiful designs. The cups arrived in beautiful packaging that protected them well, and I was impressed by the details in cup’s design. They are beautiful. They are also well-made and sturdy, though they seem delicate, at least one has already been dropped but it is still whole and unbroken. The Tea Ceremony went well and all the girls loved their tea cups…. most of them loved the tea cups more than the tea itself… but that’s 9-11 year old girls for you! 🙂
