Well built and vacuums powerful
This is my 4th sealer in 30 years. The first two were Foodsaver brands that had plastic levers to lock the machine before vacuuming. Those broke off pretty quickly. The 3rd one lasted over 10 years, but the sealer strip got wore down and was actually melting the bag through at one point. Contacted the company and they no longer sold sealers. So after review searching, I settled on this product. After a cursory glance at the instructions, I set to work to start using it. If using the cutting blade, you have to lift the bar up, put the bag down to the length you want, then lower the bar back down. At first I just laid the bag on top and that didn’t work. Had to go back to the instructions and give it more than a cursory glance. The back of the machine has an area to store the cord so it’s not laying loose when you store it. The sides of the machine have indentations so you can easily lift the machine up. The best feature is how it locks. You push down on the bar and it locks … simple and easy. Once it’s done (there’s a large “no glasses needed to see” countdown timer to let you know when it’s done) wait a second and then you can simply lift up on the bar. No plastic levers. The vacuum hose for containers also has a built in spot in the top, so you won’t lose it in a drawer or even forget where you put it like other machines. I haven’t used all the functions yet, just the “dry”, “moist” and “seal only” functions. This machine is powerful. It sucks the air out quickly and completely. The only downside, is it takes a while to seal. Anywhere between 22-30 seconds. But the seal is good, strong, and pretty wide compared to my other sealers. I have found that if you are sealing heavier products, you want to lift them up as they vacuum to get a really good suction. It comes with an extra sealing strip. I also like the drip tray comes out for easy cleaning. This isn’t a small machine. Read the dimensions on the product description. Also, it’s hefty, but that’s a good thing in my mind. All in all, I’m impressed with the quality of the machine. Lastly, pay attention to not lock the lid while it’s in storage. It’s easy to, but that will keep the strip compressed and you’ll wear it out faster … according to the instructions. If you get this product, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

I haven’t had this vacuum sealer long but I’ve used it a number of times. I can say I’m very pleased with the features and performance of this model (VS5166).Â It is faster and quieter thanÂ the vacuum sealer it is replacing (different brand) which I had for several years.Â I found this machine easier to use, more powerful, and yet smaller than my previous unit. Aside from how easy it is to use, I especially like the countdown timer display, the on-board bag roll storage and bag cutter, and the easy to read/understand owner’s manual. I can easily recommend this vacuum sealer.

FINALLY!!
This is the ultimate in food vacuum sealers! We’ve been through four (yes, 4) Food Saver vacuum sealer’s in the past six years. Their warranty’s were only a year and by gosh, they conveniently died at a year and a couple weeks. The last Food Saver we bought died EXACTLY one year to the day!!This one (Gasbye) has a one year warranty BUT all you have to do is email them and ask for another four years and they sent it to us the next day. Kinda like an extended warranty but there’s no extra charge. Their customer service is excellent!! Now, about the product itself. When using it for the first time we found the experience exceptional and totally awesome! The unit is quiet, works quickly, is very user friendly and the clean up is a breeze. I would highly recommend this product if you’re looking for a vacuum food sealer. The price was awesome too! ðð

Very high quality and wonderful features.
First thing I want to say is how very special and responsive their customer service is. For example, I did not see the replacement gaskets which are needed over a long time. They include an extra set, but I asked if they sold them separately and they do, and added the gaskets to their vacuum sealer listing. I had a few more questions and they responded within a day to my full satisfaction.The vacuum sealer has many features, including a âdoubleâ suction choice which does two seals at the end. Whatâs nice is if you select that âdoubleâ choice, then doing a manual seal for a new bag also automatically does the double seal.The suction & sealing is very strong. Having an included accessory suction hose to put in the port on top is thoughtful.I just finished a large batch of homemade chili which I portioned in the wonderful silicone 2×2 cup square âSouper Cubeâ container (ASIN: B07W9J64VK ) froze and popped outthe frozen blocks and put into into a quart bag to vacuum seal.The machine handled 10 of these double sealed bags with no problem. Itâs nice to be able to seal the souper cubes after freezing, and refill silicone souper cubes for another set of frozen blocks to vacuum seal.Very highly recommend this vacuum sealer. Itâs wayyy better than a food saver brand I had previously!

Good sealer
The food vacuum sealer is good with its double seal and manual seal features along with standard feature like most vacuum sealers have. It is quiet, fast and effective. Itâs easy to clean and locking it is a breeze. I am not a fan of the height of the machine off of the counter. I have to rest my wrapped food on a 1â cutting board to make the package level with the sealers opening. With the extra height it forces me to waste sealing sleeves. Even though this machine has a place to store a roll of seal material, I would like to be able to store large rolls. Overall, I am happy with the machine.

Quiet machine with a strong suction.
Very happy with this product. It replaced an old model Food saver, I like the ease of use on this one, and for the wetter sealing jobs, the double sealing option makes it much more effective.
