I purchased this because I liked the small size, but it didn’t even have enough power to grind peppercorns.

Tiny and (somewhat) mighty
This spice grinder works fairly well but is a LOT smaller than anticipated. The grinder’s motor is fine for grinding a light amount of spice but I can’t see it working on a larger load. The glass jars included with the grinder are a nice touch but they too are very small and only one lid is included with the kit.The grinder is very easy to use but it powers on and operates uniquely in that you must press the power button at least 5 times in order for the grinder to start – a bit cumbersome. The grinder will only operate when the jar is inserted – which a good safety feature.We tested this grinder by grinding two large cardamon seeds – which seemed to grind fairly well, but it did seem to tax the battery on this grinder.Clean up is limited to a small brush that you use to clean out the blade area – the blade is fixed and not removable – which is a shame. I don’t think this grinder would take well to water at all – perhaps a very damp sponge, but navigating the small space of the blade area would be tricky. Because of this the scent of whatever you grind will tend to linger. This may or may not bother some people, but I find it unfortunate as a person who uses a variety of pungent spices while cooking.For what it is I think it’s an ok value. It has some potential uses just don’t expect much.3 stars.
