We love these mugs esthetically!! Unfortunately, they aren’t as useful as we hoped. The loose leaf tea, in our experience, hasn’t been contained in the strainer- which is kind of the whole point. It’s a beautiful set and we still use them, just not for smaller loose leaf tea. Better for larger leaves I would say.*Photo is an example of loose chamomile tea.

These non-insulated glass mugs with diffusers and lids definitely do the job with minimal tea “sediment” getting through, sitting in the bottom of the mug.Be careful with the lids, though. Maybe mine are a fluke, but even though there’s a silicone ring on each lid, they sit very loosely on top of my mugs. They noisily wiggle around as I walk the 15 or so paces from the kitchen counter to my recliner in the living room.They brew good tea, but, unfortunately, in sub-par cups.I wouldn’t order these tea brewing mugs again and certainly wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.

These work beautifully for loose teas with larger pieces…but you gotta be careful and make sure that the pieces aren’t too small or they will fall right through the slits at the bottom.Unfortunately, 90% of my loose teas have loads of pieces that are small enough to slip through the slits at the bottom, but big enough that I feel them when I drink the tea.All in all, these may or may not work well for you, but they’re pretty cute and it’s worth checking out.

The inner strainer is nice to have. I like the feel of the cup in my hand. The handle is large enough to wrap finger’s around. I use it without the strainer often. It’s nice to see the tea strength. Great gift.
