Tiny Footprint Coffee, the world’s first carbon negative coffee. Through a unique collaboration between Roastery 7 and the Mindo Cloudforest Foundation, one an Artisan coffee roastery and the other a nonprofit conservation organization, the two teamed up to create the ultimate combination of good karma. So, how is our coffee carbon negative you might ask? It’s simple, really. It takes 4 lbs. of CO2 to produce and distribute 1 lb. of our coffee. For every pound that’s sold, we donate a portion of the proceeds to fund reforestation in Ecuador’s Mindo cloud forest. Over time, these trees will remove 54 lbs. of CO2 from the atmosphere. You see? More CO2 removed than emitted.

Our reforestation efforts along the Northwestern Andes of Ecuador help to plant native tree species throughout the Mindo Cloud Forest region in heavily deforested areas. These trees not only sequester massive amounts of carbon from the air, but also provide habitat to hundreds of local bird species, reinforce soil conservation techniques, and rebuild water tables. The Mindo Cloudforest Foundation works directly with local landowners to provide jobs related to the care and redevelopment of the cloud forest.

Making coffee great takes time, effort and passion. At Tiny Footprint Coffee, we pour endless hours into sourcing the finest, sustainably-grown Arabica coffee beans from around the world. Beans that are not only shade-grown, but also organic certified, and most often fair-trade or Rain Forest Alliance certified. We also purchase coffee from small, family-owned farms that are not fair-trade eligible, yet grow some of the most beautiful, best tasting coffees on the planet. We do all of the roasting and training from our roastery in Minneapolis, MN where we’re working hard to make the entire roastery carbon negative – from fully bio-degradable coffee bags, high-efficiency lighting and fuel-efficient ribbon burners on our roaster, to composting coffee grounds and reducing waste around the shop.

Reasonably priced light roast, organic blend
I am very happy with this premium organic blend. It has a crisp, aromatic, South or Central American taste. It is truly a light roast (it can be harder to find a genuine light roast coffee than might be supposed). To be perfectly honest, I did not order this specific coffee, Amazon decided to ship it to me either by accident or because they thought I would be happy with this slight alternative to my order. I actually ordered the single-origin Nicaraguan light roast but Amazon said it might take up to 2 months for delivery since it was not in stock. I ordered a lot of other coffee from other companies because of the delivery estimate. But surprise: this premium light roast blend arrived in about 48 hours. It tastes very similar to the Nicaraguan blend I ordered from this company previously, which I also rate at 5 Stars (it probably has a Nicaraguan component although this is not specified on the bag). I can understand how the people at the Amazon warehouse may have figured this was a good compromise and with current inflation, it would be hard to accurately price international coffee 2 months out.

    Bright and Clean
This blend makes a very tasty pour over. I haven’t done it yet, but I bet these beans would also make a delicious cold brew. I am very interested in their other coffees.

    Good Stuff!
Tiny Footprint Coffee Organic Signature Blend Light Roast – Whole Bean Coffee is a delicious brew. They tell of all sorts of “save the planet” efforts they make, but I like that it’s roasted in Minnesota (rather than being a Chinese import). I go with USDA Organic because of the nasty things coffee is treated with otherwise. It’s also a good value – around $13 per pound (up $2 since Nov. 2021), a reasonable price for organic. It’s a light roast, which means more caffeine per cup and none of that “burnt” taste that comes from darker roasts. I like it and highly recommend it.

    Terrible product. Do not buy.
I was initially excited about this product. It is hard to find true light roast beans. These are true to the roast but that is the only positive thing I can say about these. The beans are so dried out, worse than any preground and packaged store coffee. The smell is weak. The flavor is weak. I tried to double, even triple the amount of grounds with the same flavorless result. The only taste that does exist is a strong sour taste. Not a normal acidity taste but a strong sour one. Very gross. Love the concept behind the company but the product is so bad that it is a waste of money. I’d rather donate the full amount to the cause than waste a portion going to the processing and shipping of the beans.

Expect to use 40% more in your brewing
I like the concept, and the price. However, I found that it is necessary to use 40% more coffee to get the same strength of flavor that I’m used to from other roasters. I bought the 3lb bag of light roast at the great price of just under $11 per pound, but figuring in the need to use more coffee for the same brew, it works out to be more like $15 equivalent. Adjusted in this way, it makes a pretty good tasting cup. I won’t throw it out, but probably won’t reorder either.

    LOVE this Coffee!
It’s great coffee and has a nice kick to it as well. Smooth for as strong as it is and it’s good for the environment as well. Love it!

Great light brew coffee! Been subscribing to the 2 1 lb bags of beans for over 3 years!
This is a sweet, fragrant, satisfying organic light brew. Great for drip, pour over and especially cold brew. (for French press you might want to use a slightly larger amount of grounds.) If you are used to light/ medium ( hard to find true light) or medium or dark roast coffee this may not appeal to you, we don’t find it acidic (apparently medium or dark roast is supposed to be less acidic) but for us any coffee but organic light roasts tastes bitter and strong and unpalatable and upsets our tummy. Most supposed light roasts are not light and we’ve tried many different organic packaged brands, in fact they usually turn out to be dark.I would recommend getting the 2 1 lb option rather than the 3 lbs because this way it will stay fresh longer and also these come in the paper bags rather than the plastic bag.For some reason Amazon seems to be out of stock of this flavor recently, so I keep having to change my subscribe & save date as this is the item that made me subscribe in the first place! If you have any questions about this environmentally forward brand, their website has a lot of info.
