Tiny Footprint Coffee, the world’s first carbon negative coffee. Through a unique collaboration between Roastery 7 and the Mindo Cloudforest Foundation, one an Artisan coffee roastery and the other a nonprofit conservation organization, the two teamed up to create the ultimate combination of good karma. So, how is our coffee carbon negative you might ask? It’s simple, really. It takes 4 lbs. of CO2 to produce and distribute 1 lb. of our coffee. For every pound that’s sold, we donate a portion of the proceeds to fund reforestation in Ecuador’s Mindo cloud forest. Over time, these trees will remove 54 lbs. of CO2 from the atmosphere. You see? More CO2 removed than emitted.
Our reforestation efforts along the Northwestern Andes of Ecuador help to plant native tree species throughout the Mindo Cloud Forest region in heavily deforested areas. These trees not only sequester massive amounts of carbon from the air, but also provide habitat to hundreds of local bird species, reinforce soil conservation techniques, and rebuild water tables. The Mindo Cloudforest Foundation works directly with local landowners to provide jobs related to the care and redevelopment of the cloud forest.
Making coffee great takes time, effort and passion. At Tiny Footprint Coffee, we pour endless hours into sourcing the finest, sustainably-grown Arabica coffee beans from around the world. Beans that are not only shade-grown, but also organic certified, and most often fair-trade or Rain Forest Alliance certified. We also purchase coffee from small, family-owned farms that are not fair-trade eligible, yet grow some of the most beautiful, best tasting coffees on the planet. We do all of the roasting and training from our roastery in Minneapolis, MN where we’re working hard to make the entire roastery carbon negative – from fully bio-degradable coffee bags, high-efficiency lighting and fuel-efficient ribbon burners on our roaster, to composting coffee grounds and reducing waste around the shop.

Bought 91 pounds of this coffee… It’s good, great taste, tiny footprint.
Grind it daily for my french press and drink a pot of it. No complaints. There is surely better coffee out there, but for a reliable daily pot this is an easy choice, especially knowing it has an ethical supply chain.

Whole bean coffee – medium roast
I buy whole beans because they taste best when freshly ground. This was a medium roast purchase. Good mellow flavor with a veerrrry slight acid after taste.A little pricey for my wallet but overall good coffee. Enjoyed it.I like that they plant trees and are eco-friendly in their approach to organic growing practices. Giving back to Mother Earth.

Worth it
I was really not happy when I saw the size of the package. Idk if I just didn’t read or have no concept of volume, but I was underwhelmed. It’s about the size of one and half regular bags of ground coffee. But I made in my press, and realized after the first pot the 1. I could have used way less of it and 2. it’s my new favorite. This is not to bring to the office to share coffee. But selfishly enjoyed on a quiet morning, delightful.

Sour/Acidic
Finished the bag. Roast date not marked. Expiration date 9/20.Brewed in a French Press, pour over, and used in cold brew.Very sour/acidic flavor. I experimented with different Ratios up to 1:20, and different brew times, and I couldn’t get a balanced flavor out of the beans. Not very balanced and not particularly flavorful either. Marked expiration date is still 4 months away from the date these were delivered to me but maybe the beans were roasted long ago. Not ordering these again.

Best coffee for the price
I used to only drink dark oily coffee but my neighbor gave me some to try and I’ve switched permanantly. Rich flavors, almost sweet and a wonderful aroma. For $13/lb better than Starbucks.

Coffee is extremely sour tasting
So I have been making homemade cold brew coffee indoor over 5 years and I have bought over 20 different brands to see who has the best tasting organic coffee beans. I have to say that not only this brand of medium roast is under roasted, itâs also stale and gives a sour taste to cold brew. I tried it 3 different times to see if it was a fluke but I steeped in the fridge for 12 hours, 16 hours and 20 hours. Typically when steeped longer in the fridge will give it a strong and bitter taste. Every time I tried it, it had a sour taste like it was not roasted correctly. I ended up having to throw the big bag away. Buyer beware with this brand. Yeah, you get what you pay for and I regret it.
