Took advantage of Prime Days and ordered this. It arrived yesterday. In anticipation (after watching the set up video on the Royal Brew website), I had already made my Cold Brew.I decided to start out with the Nitrogen cartridges to charge. Watching the video, all went together smoothly and this morning I enjoyed my first cup. OMG. Smooth, caramely – no need for sweetener.I have a Cold Brew maker that makes astonishingly wonderful basic cold brew – the brewer is brown and uses a wool felt filter, don’t think I can use the name in this review. I recommend it.Using coarse ground coffee (French press) to create your cold brew makes filtering much easier. Drip grind is too fine, and filters very slowly. The cold brew method provided with the Royal Brew says “7 ounces of ground coffee” but does not specify – is that by weight, or volume? I used 7 ounces by weight placed in a nut milk bag I had. I steeped it for about 16 to 18 hours. This created a nice strong cold brew concentrate. I then added water and put 44 ounces in the Royal Brew.I envision Royal Brew Nitro being my staple morning coffee fix through the summer.

Rich and Creamy! Best Gift Ever!
BEST GIFT EVER! Quite possibly! My wife and son gave it to me as a Christmas present. After the first batch, about 6 of us stood around and sampled the Nitro. Mmmm. Raves from everyone! Then we had another sample â¦ haha, when 6 are standing around, it doesnât last. So happy my wife also gifted me with 2 lbs of my favorite roasterâs organic bean. In another day, more nitro! So rich and creamy. This nitro maker is worth every cent, and if I hadnât received it as a gift Iâd have bought one. Easy to clean & easy to make; it took a little concentration the first time. We watched a few videos. Perhaps the hardest part, besides measuring everything, is straining the coffee. So good! Youâll love it!

Pleased so far!
I purchased this as a gift for my wife, who is a big fan of nitro cold brew coffee. So far we have both been impressed with this unit, particularly with the flavor of the coffee it produces.I was a little daunted by the number of pieces that come with this, but in retrospect I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised. It is not difficult to use, but admittedly the instructions could be better written. In particular, there is one step where you have to stretch a small black rubber ring around a connection, and the instructions don’t make clear which ring to use or exactly where to put it; I had to come to this product description page on Amazon to find the picture which depicted this step. Other than that, though, the assembly process was easy. I’ll be watching closely to see how well this unit holds up over time, especially whether the connections remain leak-proof.What impressed me most was the flavor of the coffee. I always thought the whole “nitro” thing was a bit gimmicky, mostly adding a little bit of foam and body to the coffee, but it really does change the flavor of the coffee, making it a bit sweeter. It’s not just “sweet” coffee, though; it has a somewhat complex sweetness to it that is rather intriguing. We use Kicking Horse Grizzly Claw (available on Amazon) in ours, and we couldn’t be happier.

Customer Service is AMAZING
First of all, mini-keg works great. Was easy to put together/set up and does just what you want it to do, and is a high quality product. However, it was missing the tap handle so I contacted them. They quickly responded they would send one out ASAP – they were moving their warehouse at the time and were very apologetic about that, and said they would send a new one when they got settled. No biggie, and it was nice of them to explain. I honestly forgot all about it and today I received a message from them (about a month later) with a tracking number for the tap handle. Super friendly and professional- will definitely highly recommend Royal Brew to anyone I encounter looking to have nitro coffee at home. 🙂

part was defective; returned, but no new item has been shipped even though Amazon shows it in stock
Based on the reviews, I was really excited to get this Nitro Cold Brew Keg. I set it up as instructed and noticed that one of the parts on the top of the keg was gurgling and leaking. This was not a part that I had to attach or install, rather it was a part that had not been welded correctly. I washed the keg, put it back in its original packaging, and returned it. I have not heard anything from the company and my replacement order has not been shipped and is marked as “delayed.” Hopefully I will have an update for this review soon, otherwise, be aware that their customer service is lacking.

Extremely Happy
First, the fit and finish on this is quality. The feel is very solid and seems like itâs going to last for a very long time. I did buy the N2 they suggested and Iâm happy I did that. Overall, I am very happy with this keg. I will be trying out the taste soon as I have some nice Colombian coffee cold brewing at the moment.UPDATE: I just received the nitrogen and immediately put 2 cartridges in. The taste is great and everything meets my expectations. I will say, it’s not the exact same as you will get from a kegerator setup but it’s very close at a great value. I would definitely recommend this to someone who wants a quick and east way to get some nitro brew.Update #2: I was wrong. This is the second time I used it and the nitrogen fitting leaks like a sieve and will not hold. Thank go for Amazon replacement policy. Well see how the next one goes.Update #3: the company contacted me immediately after I sent them an email about the failure. Their customer service is top notch. They offered to replace the valve and completely understood my issue. Amazon already sent me a whole new replacement kit but if that wasnt the case, I would feel confident this company would make it right. Other than this issue, this keg is still high quality.

Made my first batch yesterday. And I have to say, it was pretty darn good.As for the build, the craftmanship/quality on the machined parts was excellent. It was pretty easy to assemble. It took me no time to assemble and only 5 minutes to fill and charge the tank. Working on my second batch today.

The keg is top heavy so it starts to become unbalanced as you near the bottom. The last couple of pours also don’t have as much gas. It’s not really a cold brew maker either as it’s only for dispensing. Over all quality is fairly good and it keeps pressure. The spout drips easily so there’s a spout cover included. However, it collects the coffee which kind of splashes all over when you try to take the cover off. That said, putting the cover on requires a bit of wiggling to ensure it’s snug. Condensation builds up on the tap quickly so you really have to jam the cover on so it stays. Then taking it off means you have to be gentle or you splash cold brew around that it had caught from the previous pour.It’s a novel way to have coffee at home and pretty cheap aside from the initial cost. It would be nice if it had some adapters for CO2 so you could have sparkling water or beer. It seems that there are no CO2 cartridges that are the same style as the N2 and nitrous ones. It’s a single use device that requires quite a bit of fridge room (64oz version).
