Easy and Cheap Way To Make Cold-Brew Coffee
I’ve always preferred cold drinks to hot ones so imagine my joy when companies started selling pre-made cold-brew coffee in the grocery store. At about $7 per bottle though, it was costing me more to buy it that way rather than brewing my own hot coffee and adding ice. It wasn’t until I was perusing YouTube and saw one of my favorite YT’ers pouring her own cold-brew out of a refrigerated container. I immediately toggled to Amazon in a search for one similar and I found this product. After comparing prices and reviews, I decided to give this one a try. 3 weeks and several brews later here are my takeaways:Pros: Easy to clean and use, coffee tastes great, not going back to buying pre-made!Cons: Durability seems fragile as the soft foamy plastic on the handle is coming up already, it will leak if you don’t screw the lid on tight so beware, since it has to brew laying down it takes up more space in my small fridge than I’d likeOverall though, it’s a much cheaper alternative to pre made cold brews and you can control the strength and taste of your coffee by selecting the brand/grounds/roast you want and by adding more or less ground to the filter.Special Note: I read through a lot of reviews and it seems the main issue most people had was the coffee grounds seeping into the liquid. It appears from reading the replies from the manufacturer and by my own experience with this, that they have created a smaller mesh filter and have stopped shipping the product with the old style. The new style is so good that I’m using fine ground coffee and have had NO grounds in my end product. So please disregard older comments about this issue if you’re ordering this for the first time.Another main issue is about the leaking but if you screw the top on securely and shake any excess out into a sink before placing it back into the fridge that will prevent leakage. For just in case, it’s good to have a paper towel under your brewer when placed on its side.

I love using it, I hate cleaning it
This is a great, easy to use cold brew coffee maker. Use any ground coffee, let it sit 24hrs and you are set for the next day. Let me start with what I LOVE about this cold brewer:1. It is extremely easy to use. Place your ground coffee in the filter, screw on the top, fill the carafe with water, and place your filter into the carafe with handle already attached, and finish with a good shaking.2. You can determine your strength. The directions say to fill the filter just over 2/3 the way full with grounds. However, you can actually reduce the coffee use if you leave the coffee to brew longer or increase your ground coffee and let it set for less then 24hours. Also, increasing your agitation of the coffee helps it to brew more quickly and get more use of the coffee you used.3. Once brewed, the carafe is good for about 4 servings of coffee.What I don’t enjoy:1. If you are not careful when you pour from the carafe it can leak during the pour into your cup if you try to pour too fast.2. I have had, on two separate occasions, the filter will come loose from the lid during shaking. Do ensure you screw the lid on the the filter precisely.3. This is not hard to clean, but I do find that cleaning the filter is a pain in trying to get all the coffee grounds out of the filter (I do not like pouring coffee grinds down the drain).With all that, I have been using my initial carafe for about two years and purchased a second for use in my motorhome, I will not be without this cold brew coffee maker. I absolutely love this product and for the price it is a great buy.

It’s so easy to make cold coffee!
It’s a great pitcher to make cold coffee! I was doing it in old fashion way, using cheese cloth but when we started to drink more cold coffee, we decided to buy this pitcher. The mesh is thin enough that I can use even fine grind espresso. Easy to clean by hand or in dishwasher. Comfortable design, good clear instruction and easy to keep in fridge.

This pitcher makes it easy to brew and store cold brew and is very easy to clean. I use about 130g of coarse ground espresso roasted beans and let it steep for at least 2 days, the resulting brew is strong and smooth, I dilute it with oat milk and it lasts about 5 days. It is pretty tall so make sure you have room for it in the fridge.

I have tried this a few times now and I am enjoying it very much. I did check on line for advice before starting and there were good ones on YouTube.The coffee is nice and smooth and can be drunk cold or heated up . Do ensure you can store it in your fridge. I found that it was helpful to decant into a jug before it was finished so that the coffee maker can be cleaned and the next brew started. I found 36 hours in the fridge was sufficient.
