I absolutely love this grinder! It has to be one of the best sub $15 purchases I ever made! It functions very well for the price, no breakages so far, very good grind adjustment with the nut under the main body of the grinder. There are a few minor issues like the plastic body collecting static and attracting fines. However for the price, I’d much rather plastic because it is very durable and has survived a few falls with zero damage. The grind is relatively consistent and on a very tight nut setting it produces adequate espresso grind, but lots of little I consistencies (not that I can taste much of that on my $50 me.coffee espresso make). I mainly use it for my aero press though and on a medium coarse setting it works incredibly well. By the tine my water is hot I’ve been done grinding. A single serving or 1 1/2 aero press scoops worth of beans takes about 2 mins to grind. A full hopper maybe 3-4: people complaining about speed are lazy, remember to use both arms In the grind motions, I.e. don’t keep the hand holding the grinder still but rather use it as part of the grind motion. I love my little grinder and I would absolutely buy it again (not that I feel this one will ever break so I won’t need to). Only complaint is I sometimes forget to take the handle off before unscrewing the bottom hopper and the handle likes to fall off (totally my fault though). Maybe if it was a bit more secure….. but hey it was so cheap I can’t complain in the slightest. It does what it was meant to, grind coffee!Pros:- good, relatively consistent grind- Compact- easy to clean- pretty fast on the grindCons:- handle occasionally like to fall off- knob on handle could be a bit bigger or longer- plastic bobber attracts staticPros far outweighs the cons, especially for the price, but it!

Would recommend to others
Works well. Provides a consistent grind. Holds enough for about 2 cups. I like the clear top cover that keeps the beans in while grinding. Two very minor nits: It’s a little bit of a pain to dry after washing, in that it’s easy to change the grind setting when drying the top part, and the bottom part is hard to dry because it’s rather narrow. This is not a problem if you let it air-dry for an hour or two. The second minor nit is the handle is a loose part that could get lost. It needs to be detachable because of the clear top cover, but a clip of some sort to hold the handle would be really nice. I just put a rubber band around the top and slip the handle under it when storing the grinder.Again, I would definitely recommend this product

Bought this about a year ago and haven’t really been using it much until recently with my Bialetti Moka Pot.It’s really nice and light, feels pretty well constructed and easy to operate. It holds just under 40 grams of coffee in the grinder. For the most part, grinding is really smooth and easy.Cleaning, however, is a bit troublesome, coffee grinds get stuck in between the burrs and on the bottom edges of the container. Would have been nice if it came with a little brush to assist with the cleaning.Overall, very pleased with the purchase. Would buy again if needed.

Better than a blade grinder.
I purchased the original Hario slim in 2016 for $25 and was researching upgrading it to steel burr manual grinders when my Hario broke. I needed something fast to tide me over until I could get the upgraded unit and didn’t want to spend too much. This was available for next day delivery and seemed similar to the Hario. Please note, this is not as nice as the original Hario Slim, nor do the recommend settings for the Hario slim work for this unit. The clicks on this unit are muddy and not as well defined. Also, the 6 clicks that I used on my Hario for my Aeropress and Moka produced a finer grind on this unit. 8-9 “clicks” seemed to be more comparable, but the grinds are not as even as the Hario and produced a muddier taste. You may want to use the paper towel trick that James Hoffman recommends in his video “Coffee Hack: The Best Blade Grinder Results” to get a cleaner cup. I will say, even without the paper towel trick, this unit produces a better cup than a blade grinder. I worry about long term durability, it’s just not as smooth or as well made as my Hario was. The handle is sharper on the edges and doesn’t have the grippiness that the Hario’s handle has (fortunately for me they are interchangeable). If you need something that will tide you over for a couple of months, this should do the trick. If you looking for a longer-term solution or a better backup unit, I would look for the original Hario slim. It’s still available on other marketplaces for around $25 and I think that it produces a more consistent grind for a little less work while easier to dial in. However, at close to $40, I would pass on the Hario Plus Mini slim and would definitely pass on the Porlex at $60. At those prices, I would research steel burr grinders like those made by Xeoleo and Timemore. I don’t see the Timemore C1 available on Amazon yet, but it’s available directly from China on other marketplaces for under $60. Overall, I’m happy with this purchase. It produces better and quicker results than my blade grinder (using the Hoffman method), and it should last long enough for me my 1Zpresso JX to arrive.

I just got this grinder and have only used it once so far but will use it every day so it will get tested. Paid $12.99 and it works well. Two big reasons I bought this one is because it has a lid which eliminates any beans jumping out when grinding and it has a large mouth to pour the beans in. Two requirements I won’t compromise on. It has a nice size to it, slim in the middle making it easy to grip while grinding. The grinding effort is pretty typical for these type grinders. The resultant grind is fairly consistent. It seems well made though mostly plastic. The removable handle is plated steel and has a hex shaped hole that you slide down onto a hex headed plated steel shaft connected to the ceramic grinding heads. I don’t see a weak link there. I will update this review if I have any problems down the road. Can’t beat it for the price!

I wanted to be able to take it camping and while at home, not have another item to plug in.I’m very pleased with it.

If you need it for a multi-cup brew , buy a bigger one .
