53mm size is accurate. Missing tamping mat.
The 53mm size is accurate and fits my 53.75 filter basket very well. I never used a coffee leveler before, just used a smaller tamper to level, this one is adjustable for depth, and it works great. I did not even know these existed when I started with home espresso machines 30 years ago. The spring loaded tamper also works extremely well. Again when I started only solid tampers (without a spring) were available, and you did it by feel. This tamper is adjustable for consistentency, has a beefy stainless head and attractively finished aluminum handle. I prefer the plain flat bottom, which this tamper has. Coffee pucks look terrific. I am dropping one star because the tamping mat WAS NOT in the box.

Great set for an affordable price
I recently bought a Breville express espresso machine from Amazon. While the tamper that comes with the machine is OK, it is not spring loaded and calibrated. I know that good tamping is essential for a great espresso. I looked at Breville and other spring loaded models and they were expensive. I stumbled upon this set during my search and it looked well made and decided to give this a try. It is well made indeed! For less than $30, it comes with a tamper, a distributor (heavy) and a mat!These work so well and I get a consistent, strong espresso every time! Get this! You won’t be disappointed!

Effective and stylish
The colors and design of this tamper set is not only elegant but it’s very effective. Love the weight of the tamper. With the lip design it allows you to even distribute weight on your coffee to allow for even distribution which gives the best amount of espresso. Excellent value.

2 out of 3 components are great
Overall, I am impressed with the quality of this tamper set. The tamper and distributor are both well made and have great weight and feel to them. The distributor is especially heavy duty and can be adjusted to different heights. They both work as described. I knocked a star for the silicone mat. It’s extremely small and cumbersome to use. The way it hangs over the counter makes it impractical to keep out, so you’ve got to move it and store it every time you want to use it. During use, it just gets in the way more than anything else.
