A bit pricey but delivers an excellent cup of high quality espresso.
Starbucks by Nespresso Vertuo Dark Roast Coffee, 32-count Coffee Podsâââââ (4.5 Stars rounded up!)”Strong, flavorful!Â Definitely stronger than a K-cup”, my better half gives her verdict as she sips her Nespresso French Roast with “dark caramel and sweet smoke” flavors, licensed by Starbucks.Â We brought over the Nespresso Vertuo espresso pods to our son’s, a big Nespresso user, for his home rehab party.Â Each pod gives an 8 oz (230 ml) cup of goodness. With frothed milk from his special frother machine plus brown sugar, the result is indeed as though served instore.Â Â Can’t help but compare with our preferred reusable K-pods for sustainability, not quite possible with Nespresso pods. With good ground espresso blends and the “strong button” on the Keurig plus frothed milk, we do get a decently comparable cup of espresso.Overall, a bit pricey but delivers an excellent cup of high quality espresso.

Bold Coffee That Tastes Smoky & Delicious But Not Burnt, Pleasing Bitterness, Lucious Foamy Texture
âStarbucks by Nespresso â French Roast capsules functions perfectly in Nespresso Vertuo machine. These are the bigger Vertuo capsules and are not compatible with original line machines. These capsules brew a strong cup of dark roast coffee. I enjoy intense coffee but donât always appreciate French Roast as some can taste too charred or burnt and can also brew too thin and watery. But this is a French Roast I thoroughly enjoy.The capsules brew an outstanding cup of dark roast coffee with a delicious smoky taste that I expect from a true French Roast yet it doesnât taste burnt or charred. Itâs a little bitter but in a good way and as I would expect. Also, the Nespresso brewing process results in a luscious foamy texture so this isnât thin like some French Roast brews. This is one of the most enjoyable French Roast coffee Iâve ever had no matter what method of preparation. Love it. 5 stars.

It is Starbuck’s – what is there not to love!
I ordered the #Starbucks by Nespresso Vertuo, French Roast, Dark Roast Coffee, 32-count Coffee Pods for my Nespresso machine which I use daily. I was very happy to see the Starbuck’s pods in my feed. I love Nespresso and Starbuck’s. I couldn’t wait to try them. Once I did, I was not disappointed. The French Roast is a good dark coffee, which I love. Sometimes Starbuck’s coffee can have a bitter after taste. These pods create great coffee, no bitterness. I am very happy with these pods and would get them again.

Starbucks + Vertuo = 🙂
Love the vertuo machines and the quality they put out. This Starbucks pod is no different. Taste and consistency is practically better than Starbucks itself.

Smooth rich French roast flavor
These Nespresso pods are everything you expect from Starbucks coffee. The flavor is rich and bold, as a good French roast should be. There is also no bitter aftertaste, which I often find with inferior dark roast coffees. These pods make a wonderful cup of coffee that is smooth and relaxing. Definitely one of the better French roast coffee pods I have tasted.

Keurig good. Virtuo not so much.
The flavor just doesnât hold up in the Virtuo coffee maker.

Tastes Like Coffee Right From the Shop
This is a very bold coffee, but then Starbucks French Roast is one of the stronger roasts out there. It’s smooth, not too bitter, and has a strong roasted taste and aroma. The pods make a great cup of coffee in very little time.

Very rich and bold flavor
Weâve been using the Nespresso Vertuo line since it first came out about a decade ago. Over that time, weâve loved just about everything about it except one â the lack of third-party pods. Donât get me wrong, the coffee and espresso flavors Nespresso offer taste great. But there just isnât enough variety.So, when I saw these officially licensed third-party pods from Starbucks, I jumped on them. And as soon as they arrived, I made a cup right away. The pods look identical to those by Nespresso with the only difference being the green dot in the middle. The coffee also brewed the same with a nice layer of crema.As for the taste. It really does taste like Starbuckâs French Roast coffee. I donât know why I was surprised by this. Itâs bolder and richer tasting that most of the ones made by Nespresso in my opinion. That sits well with me since I like my coffee with cream and sugar. But if you like your coffee black, this French Roast might be a little too bold.Price-wise, these pods arenât cheap and are more expensive that Nespresso own pods, which arenât cheap either. You also donât get free stuff (like cool coffee cups) for ordering a certain amount directly from Nespresso. Thus, while I probably wonât be ordering these on a regular basis, I definitely can see myself getting them (and any new flavors) from time-to-time as a nice alternative to those from Nespresso. If you like dark, full-bodied coffee, I think you will too.
