An Excellent 5 Different Starbucks Nespresso Original Flavors Sampler This is a winner. Here you get to have 5 different sleeves of Starbucks Nespresso Originalline. The only flavor it's missing is the Dark Roast Espresso. Below I share my thoughts on each sleeve, in both the espresso and lungo shots from a Nespresso Citiz machine.STARBUCKS NESPRESSO ORIGINALLINE PODS1- Blonde Espresso Roast, Intensity 6, 53 g, 1.86 oz>>I tried as an espresso, itâs strong, with character and lots of caffeine. Good taste too.>>I tried as a lungo, naturally more water creates a smoother taste, but it still has good character for lungo size and caffeine is felt.2- Pike Place â Lungo â Intensity 7 â 53 g, 1.86 oz>>I tried as lungo. It tastes like brewed coffee, instead of espresso. It tastes good with strong caffeine, and totally drinkable, but other options are better for espresso taste such as Blonde Espresso Roast, or Dark Espresso Roast.>>I tried as an espresso and itâs delicious. Not too strong, not too acidic, good flavor.3- CafÃ© Verona â Ristretto - Intensity 10 - 55 g, 1.94 oz>>I tried as an espresso and itâs quite satisfying. It does say Ristretto (less water, or a shorter pull than espresso) on the sleeve, hence should be best as espresso.>>I tried lungo as well. Itâs another mellow and smooth but flavorful experience. Obviously added water makes it much smoother.4- House Blend â Lungo, Intensity 8, 57 g, 2.01 ozThis capsule, along with Dark Roast Espresso and Columbia pack the most amount of coffee grounds. 57 grams or 2.01 oz.>>I tried as lungo, Although it says Lungo on the sleeve, itâs rather bland. It tastes more like coffee than expresso or lungo. Iâd call it mellow, and smooth.>>I tried as an espresso, it doesnât remind you of a espresso shot, but a short and strong coffee shot, with good flavor and caffeine is felt.5- Columbia â Medium Roast Intensity 7 â 57 g, 2.01 oz>>I tried as lungo and itâs quite nice. Itâs doesnât come across as too strong nor with high caffeine. Perfectly drinkable as lungo. Does take like coffee and not espresso.>>I tried as an espresso. It comes alive as espresso, it is a bit bitter, moderate caffeine, but delicious.6- Dark Roast Espresso, Intensity 11 â 57 g, 2.01 oz (this is not part of the sampler above)This is the strongest Nespresso pod I have tried in the lungo size. Itâs the best if you like a nice kick.>>I tried in espresso size, and itâs quite strong, almost overkill in this size. Better in lungo size.

Bring Back Holiday Blend for Original Line!
Hands down the best Nespresso Starbucks blend and terrible that millions of customers with original line machines have been dismissed and can no longer enjoy it. It was a Christmas tradition in our family and every year for a decade, we’d eagerly await the Holiday blend Nespresso release, a huge part of getting into the Christmas spirit for our family. The incredible flavor was our favorite, the festive color of the capsules, everything about it was perfection. (In fact, we loved it so much we bought back up boxes to keep all year round.) As of two years ago, that holiday tradition is over because they no longer make them–yet still offer it in the Vertuo line and K-cups. Very upsetting and a huge diss for loyal original line customers. We don’t want to brew in plastic cups, so don’t have a Keurig and prefer the original line capsules and machines (we’ve had three.) We’ve invested so much money, thousands over the years into the Nespresso brand (an expensive habit)–we’ve ordered this Holiday Blend more than 25 times alone, given it as gifts, etc.–and shouldn’t have to purchase a new machine just to enjoy this blend. We also don’t want to brew regular drip coffee or wouldn’t use a Nespresso machine. Bottom line–it’s totally unfair to offer this to other Nespresso and Keurig machine users at the holidays but discriminate and leave your original line customers in the dust. You are leaving out, disregarding and losing a massive part of your clientele and your revenue, Nespresso. Bah, Humbug! Please do what’s right–include your original line customers in the holidays again and bring back the Starbucks Holiday Blend original line capsule. You have millions of loyal, faithful customers who invest so much in your products and we deserve to enjoy it, too.

Decent Coffee, But Weak Packaging
I go through 2-3 capsules every morning, so I always hunt for budget-friendly options. These work fine, taste good enough, and are usually a good deal on Amazon. BUTâthe packaging could be better. Capsules often arrive dented, which messes with the Nespresso machine when it tries to press and extract. A little more protection in the box would go a long way!

These taste the most coffee-shop like
Iâm glad Starbucks put their name behind a product they believe in. These pods produce espresso most closely resembling that which you get from a chain coffee shop, unlike the more coffee-water ones of the discount variety, and the âalmost but not quiteâ of the larger name brands. For sure, the nespresso branded pods are a little different tasting than these, but they are what they claim to be, Starbucks espresso from a pod, nothing more, nothing less.Very consistent brew from the aluminum capsules. Always a good crema and smells like it should. A colleague had a shot once that he said was undrinkable, but no other pods from that box had issues, so I will chalk it up to bad luck only. Iâve put dozens of the same variety through, and no bad experiences.Only issue is the price: $0.50 is a generally competitive one for this class of pod, but if you need that aroma and Starbucks taste, sure beats a 4 dollar Americano you have to drive up to get.
