Cute idea, a couple of quirks, but mostly usable
This is a cute and cheap coffee cup for travel, with a light-up temperature display that eventually shows the temperature inside the cup.Unlike many other insulated cups, this one is rated for 2-4 hours on hot beverages and 4-6 hours for cold drinks according to the pictures (4-6/6-8 in the description, which I think is optimistic). If you’re expecting 24-48 hours, this $9 cup is not for you. It’s also worth noting that the insulation is odd, in that a very hot or very cold liquid will have its heat leak out through the steel shell. This is probably why the temperature holding times are so low. And “high thermal insulation efficiency” in the description is not really true.I have a certain concern about how long the battery for the display will last. I haven’t tried prying the display out to see if it’s an easy CR2032 or the like, but with the number of mugs I acquire, I probably won’t even remember this one when the battery gives out.My biggest concern with this hit me on the second or third day I used it on my daily (20 minute) commute. The rubber stopper isn’t very permanently attached to the flip-up lid, and one time I went to open the mug and the lid came up… but the rubber stopper did not. I was able to pull it out with my fingernails, but it took some effort once I got to my desk at work to get it reinstalled. It hasn’t come out again, but that would be a concern on my daily commute.Really, my expectations for a $9 coffee mug are not on the scale of the arctic-themed brands. If I want my drink to stay hot for 12+ hours, I’ll go to Yeti, but I rarely leave a cup of coffee that long anyway.

Interesting concept
This is a great mug with the interesting feature of tapping to view the internal temperature. It is a bit educational because we don’t usually realize how much heat is lost in the pouring off of our hot beverages, before capping. You think you are pouring something a few degrees under boiling and then the temperature shows as far lower. The temperature reading takes a few minutes to rise to the internal temperature of the cup. In other words if you tap immediately (you just tap at a spot on the temp readout screen) then you will see a fairly shockingly low temperature, and then you tap again a minute later and it is far higher. In a few minutes it will calibrate to the internal temp.Do you really need this screen? For kids or the sick: YES.For adults just heading out the door: Probably not, as grabbing a mug usually is enough sensory feedback to know if the interior is till hot, or at least warm. But it is a great thing for having cocoa for kids! You can know that the temp is 120 F for example and won’t burn their tongues when they don’t know how yet to drink hot beverages with aeration to prevent burns.Recommended.

Whatâs the Point?
This technology is lost on me for two reasons. The first is why do I need to know the temperature? The second is why doesnât it offer Fahrenheit temperature as well as the Celsius reading? If promoting a product in countries that use Celsius, itâs not a problem, but also promoting the same product in a country that doesnât use Celsius as the main temperature reading, it only makes sense to make the product have a dual reading. The Stainless-Steel is a fair quality, but doesnât retain the heat as long as my other simplified cups. I couldnât find any info on battery replacement or anything that looked like a way to access it. I guess someone with a scientific mind who wants their coffee a certain temperature would find this a cool and fun mug, assuming they are familiar with Celsius readings.

Good mug, not sure of the functionality of the temp monitor
This is a pretty awesome little gadget. I personally don’t find the temp sensor to be too accurate from pour to pour but I may just be doing it wrong. It’s a great size, built well and a good color. I like that it holds temp for a long time and I don’t think I will have to worry about it breaking any time soon.

Just okay
This cup is just okay, it’s smaller then expected. The cap is leak proof and it does reads the temperature of your coffee but it don’t keep coffee hot. It’s just a regular coffee cup that reads the temperature and has a screw on lid. you definitely get what I pay for.
