Good replacement for pricier brand
REplaced and old Bodum that broke in a fall. this one works just as good. Easy to plunge, easy to clean. Metal mesh works as good as any to keep “dust ” down. Only very minor annoyance is that the top has to be aligned just right with the slots at the spout to pour out the coffee. I would love to not have to think about how that one piece is rotated, you can tell unless you look at it sideways. I ended up using a silver Charlie to make a mark on the lid so I know where to spin it to, not classy but better than figuring it out each time.

It does the job ok
Meh it does the job but there are a couple annoying things commensurate with the affordable price point. First, the lid doesn’t have an indicator showing where the pour opening is so once you’ve pressed the plunger you have to spin the lid until you see the pour location come around rather than align a triangle on top to the spout as other presses might have. Second, and more challenging, the carafe slips out of the cradle when pouring but only when it’s hot. I imagine the plastic-feeling cradle expands after pouring hot liquid. Once cool, the carafe fits snugly but it’s annoying to remember to put a thumb on top to prevent your hot drink from falling on the floor.

This Press is Hazadous
It pains me to say this French Press is dangerous. First let me say it’s a nice looking press. But the lid fits loose and the screens are cheap. I could overlook these for the price paid, but when heated, or washing under hot water, the glass beaker can slide right out of its plastic holder. While washing it and holding the black handle, the glass slid out and i caught it before it hit the sink! This can end up on the counter or floor as broken glass. Not a good design. Sad to say I have to return.

I really like it; the price is not bad, and it also fits a good two cups of coffee, so it’s perfect for my morning routine.

Ich kenne diese Art der “Kaffeemaschine” noch aus den 80er-Jahren und damals gab es auf jedem Tassenboden Kaffeesatz.Da konnte man nie die letzten beiden Schlucke trinken.Das ist nicht wirklich viel besser geworden. Mit den letzten beiden Schlihcken muss man immer noch vorsichtig sein.Mittlerweile nutzen wir diese Art French Press Kaaffeezubereiter seit knapp 1 Jahr und sind immer noch sehr zufrieden.Einzig das Saubermachen der Kaffeekanne gestaltet sich etwas schwierig, denn man bekommt nie alles an Kaffeesatz herausgekratzt.Hoffentlich verstopft dadurch nicht die Rohre vom Waschbecken. Wahrscheinlich mache ich mir unsonst Sorgen. Bisher ist nichts passiert.Aber das und auch der Kaffeesatz auf dem Boden, das wussten wir. Da wir die French Press nun schon seit längerem nutzen.Ich habe irgendwo gelesen, dass man bevor man den Kaffee aufgiest, am besten das Kaffeepulver schon Mal mit heißem Wasser bedecken soll. Danach erst richtig aufgiesen. Am besten kreisförmig, damit man alles an Kaffeepulver bedeckt.Man muss aber bedenken, dass man für diese Art “Kaffeemaschine” kein ganz fein gemahlenes Kaffeepulver nehmen soll.Wir haben uns extra eine elektrische Kaffeemühle angeschafft, so brauchen wir auch unsere Kaffeebohnen auf.Es gibt sogar einen Ersatzfilter und ein paar Dinge zum reinigen.Dadurch ist es ein sehr gutes Preeis-Leistungsverhältnis.Mein Mann trinkt seinen Kaffee lieber stärker, ich mag meinen milder.Auch dafür ist diese Kaffeepresse gut.Ich gieße mir als erstes meinen Kaffee ein.2 bis 3 Minuten später bekommt mein Mann seinen KaffeeDenn eines steht fest – uns schmeckt dieser Kaffee richtig gu4.
