As a life long coffee drinker I must say I really enjoyed this coffee. It has no bitterness at all and I had 3 big cups and no stomach issues. So I would say the acid is indeed low. It is not your run of the mill Folgers. It has a slightly sweet after taste and a chocolaty aroma, but in our house all four of us like it very much. I will be re-ordering!!

No hazelnut flavour, but worth it for the low-acid content, anyway.
I have pretty severe acid reflux and am in the process of becoming pregnant (which will only worsen those symptoms), so I was looking for a low-acid coffee with a reasonable price that came in flavours, and this was pretty much the only one that fit the bill. There is a particular brand of coffee that is aimed specifically at pregnant women and the price was so ridiculous I thought it was a mistake at first, so I stopped including anything about pregnancy in my search as found this brand. Unfortunately, there is zero hazelnut smell or taste to the bag I purchased. I don’t know if it was mislabeled or a bad batch, but it smells and tasted like a plain very dark roast coffee and that’s it. If I were to rate it based on being a plain dark roast coffee, it is just fine. I had to adjust the amount used and method for brewing to get it the way I like it and reduce the burnt taste that sometimes comes with a very dark roast (personally, I prefer a medium roast, but beggars can’t be choosers), but once I did that I was able to enjoy it as a plain cup of coffee and did notice that I had NONE of my usual acid reflux symptoms after a cup. I might try ordering the vanilla flavour next to see if there is any taste, or at least smell to it, but for the low acid properties it is at least worth purchasing again regardless of the missing hazelnut flavour.Bottom line, makes an okay (unflavored) cup of coffee and is worth the slightly higher price per pound to have less acid in the coffee.

DO NOT BUY THE MOCHA JAVA
I’ve been buying this brand for a while and have been generally pleased with it. It’s a good flavor and generally a good price. However, since the price of the roast I was buying increased, I decided to switch out to a different roast. I ordered the mocha Java because the price was decent, and having had it before in other brands, I know it is a roast that I like. Unfortunately, upon receiving this I realized that what they are calling mocha Java is not a roast at all, but some sort of weird flavoring additive like hazelnut. Let me emphasize that true moka Java is NOT a flavored coffee. I hate flavored coffees and I absolutely would not have purchased this if I knew that was the case. How can coffee roasters actually know so little about coffee? This item is not returnable because it is a food item. I’m so annoyed by this I may not buy this brand at all any more. I’m stuck with a huge bag of unusable beans now.
