Customers appreciate the low acid content of the coffee, which helps digestion and prevents tummy aches. They also find it a good value for money. However, some customers have reported issues with the decaf quality being weak and not as good as expected from Puroast. There are mixed opinions on the taste, smell, and comfort level for their stomachs.

No Heartburn!!!
I enjoy waking up before the rest of my family. I like to sip my morning cup of coffee in a quiet house while catching up on emails and social media. It’s my routine. I have GERD, but until recently, coffee didn’t really affect that. Over the last few months though, I started getting heartburn after my morning coffee. I get heartburn from a lot of the foods that I eat, but getting it after my coffee was new to me. I did some research and discovered that there are coffees out there with lower acid, so I decided to give it a try. I chose the mocha java flavor only because it was lower priced. If they were priced similarly, I would have gone with a French vanilla or even one with no flavor, but I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on something I wasn’t even sure would work. I usually add a lot of creamer and some whipped cream to my coffee, so the flavor isn’t really a big deal anyway. This is whole bean, so my husband ground it for me and I put it in an air tight container. I didn’t really notice a big mocha smell to the beans or ground coffee. It smelled a lot like coffee. I added my usual creamer and whipped cream to my fresh brewed coffee. The taste was mild. My teenage daughter who doesn’t care for coffee unless it’s in an iced blended coffee drink, liked this, too. And the best part of it was – I had no heartburn at all!!! I was afraid that I was going to have to give up drinking coffee, but now I don’t! I can continue my morning routine! I am beyond thrilled to have found this.

Not bad for acid free
Puroast Low Acid Whole Bean Coffee, Premium Decaf French Roast, is a great option if you’re looking for a smooth decaf with good flavor. I have a sensitive stomach, and the low acid really makes a differenceâno more heartburn or discomfort after a cup. The French roast has a nice bold taste, but it’s not too strong or bitter. For decaf, it holds up well, though it’s not quite as rich as some regular coffee. Still, it’s my go-to when I want a late cup without the caffeine or acidity issues.

Low acid and delicious
This is a great option for anyone needing a low acid, decaf coffee. This makes a great cup of delicious, full bodied coffee. It would be great if it was organic as well..

Donât do it
I have been drinking low acid coffee for several years now and really wanted to like this brand, however it was awful. The first sign something was off was the smell. Until now I had never opened a bag of coffee and been grossed out by the sent. Once brewed you get a cup of coffee you canât drink without gagging, and emptying the used grounds really gets you holding your breath. The second sign something was off was the color. These grounds look like a blond roast. Not that being an actual dark roast would help. The flavor and sent profile are very wrong. Maybe it was just the bag I got, but this is going in the trash.

Tastes burnt
This coffee has a burnt taste. I think my complaint about this product may be more of an issue with how Amazon handles the product than the product itself. When I received the bag of coffee it had a lot of air in it and wasn’t compressed to have all the air removed, which I think impacts the quality of the coffee. Many of the various bags of coffee I’ve ordered from Amazon have come that way, but if I order coffee directly from the supplier the bags are compressed down. I’m not sure if that handling has impacted the flavor, but for quality coffee I would recommend buying someplace other than Amazon.

Going low but still tasting good.
Going low on the caffeine and acid without sacrificing taste. Good switch.

True to its description, low acid and doesnât bother me
I tried different flavors and caf vs decaf of this brand and would continue buying due to its low acid nature.

A Bangs for Bucks Coffee? Perhpas not.
I was quite excited to receive my back of Puroast, recent forced avoidance of my favorite morning hot beverage, due to acid reflux. I opened the bag and was overwhelmed by the rich aroma of – well nothing much really, perhaps something that could be described as “coffeeish”. Not to be discourage, I popped the disappointingly dry looking bean shaped thingys into the grinder and let it get to work. Once ground I deeply inhaled the smell of what at can most accurately be described as a ground up cardboard box that at best once contained coffee and at worst had sat next to a container of coffee. I persisted. I made what would normally have been generously strong pot of drip coffee. Again, very little to stimulate the olfactory receptors. It reminded me of the childhood smell of the wan brown liquid that was dispensed from the instant coffee vending machine at the local hospital in the 1970’s. Something almost, but not entirely unlike coffee. I’ve tried a few of the other low acid coffees on sale on Amazon – they are OK to decent, but a bit pricey and I was seeking something more bangs for bucks in Puroast. I recommend that no-one else tries my little experiment in economy. The other brands are defiantly worth the extra $. I wouldn’t buy this stuff again, if it were half the price it is now. My other recommendation is that the company change the brand name to Pureass. I wouldn’t go as far as to described this “coffee” as “nasty,” because it is really not that impressive.

Mild tasting, yet dark roast. Interesting, but pleasant. I would buy it again.

Didnât really care for this coffee. It was ok, but I prefer kicking horse decaf to this one.
