Buy this grinder!
This is a GREAT coffee grinder! After purchasing two Hamilton Beach grinders that had declined in quality since the last one I owned, and were as loud as airplane engines, this one is far and away the best grinder out there.1. It’s quiet. The sound shield really does work, it just emits a low grinding sound – you can carry on a conversation while it’s operating.2. Easy to use. The inner lid locks easily and you just place the clear sound shield over it and press down. No fiddly little buttons, super easy!3. The inner metal grind bowl comes right out for cleaning, replace it by just dropping it back in its place. Nothing to snap, totally simple.4. Grinds evenly and fast – about 10 seconds for 2 tablespoons of beans.5. The cord is a good length, and there is capacity to wind it around under the unit. However, since I use it everyday I just wrap it around the grinder – it’s not super easy to stow the cord, but the other features outweigh that slight inconvenience that I wouldn’t drop the star rating for it!In short, BUY THIS GRINDER! It’s an absolute winner!

Great product, pretty quiet and safe.
I love the 3 containers it comes with and the quality of the materials. Not silent but much quieter than others I’ve owned. Love the safety features which make it pretty impossible to injure yourself or run it without the lids locked. The only issue is it is not made for espresso grind as it will clog. I use a classic Italian espresso pot on stove occasionally. But it’s great for regular coffee makers.

Great grinder – not 100% quiet
I’ve had this now for 3 months and I grind my coffee almost every day. It does have an extra plastic top so it muffles the sound of the grinder, but it is not 100% quiet. I would say its about 70% quieter than a regular grinder. The grind itself is good and it grinds fast. It is a quality product, not flimsy. The plastic is sturdy, as are the stainless steel blades. Its easy to work as I have arthritis in my hands. Its easy to clean either with a dish-cleaning wand or throw it in the dishwasher (top shelf) for a deep clean.

Just right
After buying a coffee/spice grinder and returning it (there were residue coffee grounds left in it -obviously a return) I opted for this one and I’m glad I did. I really like that the bowl is removable for washing. I thought I would buy one for coffee and another for grinding flax seed and maybe spices, but if you can remove the bowl and get it thoroughly clean, I may not need to do that. So, right out of the box, I’m impressed with this. I also like the double cap which reduces the noise….well designed. Hopefully it will last for many years.

Love love love
Great product. I’m actually not a coffee drinker. I recycle my kitchen waste for fertilizer in my gardens. Works great to pulverize my used egg shells (once droed) into a very fine powder. My tomato plants thrive every year thanks to the pulverized egg shell powder. I miss into thr soil around my tomato plants when transplanting and then again approximately three more time during growing season and have gorgeous tomatoes. And, no, it does not attract “unwanted visitors”. Great use of this product.

Well price is right anyway
So you get what you pay for. It works fine, but the design makes a mess everytime i use it.

I really like the fact that depending on the recipe I control how fine the spices should be ground

I bought this to replace my 10 year old Proctor Silex. Very glad the company still makes these small simple grinders. I like the small size and the simplicity. Another great feature is that everything disassembles and the main bowl with the blade comes out. Make it a ton easier to clean. I mainly use it for grinding spices and it works excellent. I have not used it to grind coffee.

It worked well in the beginning but after 4 months it stopped working and I could see some smoke coming from the wire.
