Iâm a beginner!
I love this set and Iâve used it every day for 3 solid weeks. Made lots of bread and I think I have a decent handle on it. Relatives, neighbors and friends become unwitting victims of the sour dough bread addiction. I admit it. Iâm addicted from bread to bagels to crackers. So far. I have many more things to try. I only threw out 1 ball of dough out of many and it was my mistake. I actually bought a set for my granddaughter to use. Deciding on a bread baking pan was difficult but I chose a dome style which makes baking this bread enjoyable and so easy with the set came all pieces I needed. Itâs a great deal, money wise and the amount of enjoyment that goes with it!

Good starter kit
I am a novice bread baker so I think this set is good for my purposes. The kit seem complete except for not including a scale for weighing flour for perfect measurements and meeting recipe needs. I am not using the silicone banneton as I like my stainless-steel bowls instead. The miscellaneous tools are helpful and do the trick. This is a good starter kit for beginners like me.

Great starter set for sourdough enthusiasts
This is truly a perfect set. I have begun sourdough baking on a regular basis and wanted to do it with my daughter who is in school across the country. I purchased this set for her and wish I had it for myself. I love the starter jar especially. Great value for the price.

Top cheese cloth is way too small!
Everything works and is really handy. With the exception of one thing. The cheese cloth cover. It’s to small! I could not get it on alone. I had to cut one side of the elastic, and my husband had to hold one side while I stretched it over it to get it on. Good thing the jar is heavy duty thick glass or it would of broke! Pretty disappointed in that aspect of it. Unfortunately. Wasn’t to expensive, but you kinda want things to work as they should.

This is almost all you need
The only thing missing from getting a perfect starter set is a digital scale. All the pieces are a good quality and I really like not having to use a cloth liner when proofing.

Jar has manufactured defect
The bottom is thick on one side and thin on the other, so when we were stirring our starter, with a rubber spatula, it got a hole in it because the glass was so thin on that side of the jar.

Not Just for Lockdown!
During lockdown, my mom made her own sourdough bread, but I never got the inclination to do so. So, I finally decided that I would try it. When I saw this kit, I was encouraged to order it because of the wideness of the jar; my mom had hers in a mason jar, but it was always difficult to stir the starter. I also specifically wanted this kit because it included a fermentation cap rather than just a square of cheesecloth.When I received the kit, I was thrilled until I discovered that the fermentation cap didnât fit. In fact, the cap only fits a wide mouth mason jar. So instead, I used the black silicone lid/base. Using this silicone is actually perfect for me. Not only can my sourdough starter ferment (see photo), but it also keeps away insects. I actually prefer this lid/base instead. The jar also includes a thermometer that sticks onto the outside of the jar. But my favorite part about this kit is the fact that thereâs an elastic band that goes around the jar that helps me to keep track of the feeding schedule.I love the tools that came with it. And although many might prefer a banneton basket made out of natural material, I love that the company chose to make it out of silicone. Not only does this mean that itâs more sanitary and easier to clean, it also means that I donât have to deal with additional covers for the banneton, which means less clean up for me.Overall, this is a great kit but do be advised that the fermentation cap you receive might be far too small for the included jar. However, the silicone base is perfect for the job.
