I’m In Love… With A Salt and Pepper Mill Set
I searched all of Amazon for an actual grinder for salt, and happened upon this awesome set. It was hard to find a set that didn’t just have a salt shaker that looked like a grinder. However, this set is no joke. The salt grinder is even specially formulated to handle the minerals in salt. It is stupid-easy to load and use also. It comes with some salt and pepper, but we added more. This size fits a decent amount and we have it next to our stove to use in cooking (in a prominent place to show off how handsomely designed they are). I’m not sure about the price; I bought this a couple weeks ago for a few bucks cheaper than it is now. I don’t know if I would pay 80+ bucks for a salt and pepper grinder, but when this has the price reduced, it’s worth it. Oh, and let’s not forget about the ADJUSTABLE grain levels… This was so enchanting (in both salt and pepper), that we went through a bunch of salt and pepper just experimenting. All in all, I’m happy with my recent purchase.

Worth the price
Weâve gone through several pepper mills over the years. I was never happy with the grind quality. I saw this on Americaâs Test Kitchen. This mills grind perfectly and consistently. Another plus is that the level of grind doesnât have to be reset when you fill it. I should have gotten one years ago.

Good product but bottom broke… still works!
This is a very good product, with one flaw that I will mention shortly. These matching grinders are very adjustable, grind flawlessly and look good both in the kitchen and on the table. We used them with no problem for several months. Then unfortunately, one of them fell off the counter onto our tiled floor. The grinder still works fine, but the bottom part of the wood is thin and vulnerable and a piece broke off it (see picture). I glued it back on, but it fell again after a few more months and the same piece came off again. This time the piece was lost so now there is a permanent bare place where the insides are visible. Still works great, but it tips over easily because the base is no longer complete. We loved it but are annoyed at the vulnerability of the wood base.. not sure there is a cure, but Peugeot makes good products (my first 10-speed bicycle was a Peugeot!) so they may be able to figure out a fix.

I just love these mills! They are adjustable so you can have really fine grounded salt and pepper. When held, you can see the markings on the bottom section of each mill to adjust the grind. I love having a fine grind when I’m adding salt and pepper at the table. The color is as you see in the picture, it’s profile on the table is perfect (not too tall but you don’t spend a great deal of time searching for the mill when you need it) and it’s comfortable to hold. No question, I wouldn’t look further, this is the one!

Changing my review
Having used Peugeot pepper grinders in the past (I still have a small one that I’ve been using for 20 years), I ordered the large set. They worked OK for a while, but after a while, they stopped grinding. I couldn’t figure out what was wrong, then I noticed that each one had a tiny crack in the bottom part, where the grind adjustment is. I had to squeeze this section tight to get the thing to grind. What a pain. Eventually another crack must have occured, because a big chunk of the wood at the bottom in now missing from both grinders. Useless. Yesterday I bought a salt and pepper set at the supermarket for $1.59. Just turn them upside down, and shake.Update on Peugeot salt and pepper mill set. I gave this a bad review, but I was contacted by Peugeot USA. They stand behind their products, and indeed, they sent me a replacement set. It works perfectly. Thanks, Peugeot!

These salt and pepper mills are “state of the art” when compared to previous mills I have used. They are a good weight in my hands, feel solid, and grind salt and pepper exceptionally well with five different settings for size/coarseness of ground salt and pepper. They are designed, engineered and built to last – by a car manufacturer no less!
