Iced Coffee Game Changer!
This is a game changer for me. I love iced coffee and drink it daily, year-round. Like another reviewer, I was lugging out my big stockpot, lining it with cheesecloth, adding the coffee and water, letting it steep for 8 hours, and then transfering the coffee to other containers for storing in the fridge. Clean up was a bear, and no matter how fine your cheesecloth is, there’s still a lot of sediment. But it was worth it because I love the resulting cold brew (I make it with Community Coffee’s ‘Coffee & Chicory’). That process makes me 2 weeks of coffee per batch, which saves me a ton of $$ at ‘Fivebucks’. THIS thing is amazing. So freakin’ easy. I’m enjoying my first glass of cold brew from my first batch as I’m writing this review. I put the entire bag of coffee in (12 oz), let it steep on the counter for 14 hours, pulled out the cylinder with the grounds and thought, “Dang, that thing takes up a lot of room. Now the jug is only 2/3 full.” Then I tasted it: Smooth, delicious and STRONG. I filled up the rest of the jug with filtered water and I’ll still probably need to dilute future glasses of iced coffee.I LOVE IT!Three month update: Since I am the only person in the household who drinks this luscious brew, I found that putting 1/2 bag of coffee in the filter and steeping for 8 hours makes it the perfect strength for me. I had to dilute it A LOT when I made it with the full bag, so I was storing about 2 to 3 weeks of coffee. I think they recommend storing it for only 1 to 2 weeks.

Bye bye Starbucks …
This is a great and simple product and in the weeks Iâve been enjoying it, Iâve not once stopped for a coffee or tea outside my home. I really donât like coffee, especially here in the US. Even Starbucks blonde tastes like charcoal. But I travel frequently, 26 hour one way journeys, twice a week. Jet lag is part of my life and Iâve been trying to drink coffee more to fight off the lag.I own several glass gallon plus dispensers like this, but this one includes a simple metal filer / strainer. I fill it half way with ground coffee, add water, and let it sit on the counter for 24 hours. Remove the filter. Top off with fresh water, and put it in the fridge. Itâs that simple. Iâve explored different grinds and steep times and the longer the better for my taste. When I want (need) a coffee, itâs easily dispensed into small spout jars as I like to add evaporated milk, honey, and shake shake shake. The spout doesnât drip and when Iâve used all the beverage is super quick and easy to wash and reset for another gallon batch. It really is a super simple product and it works well. It doesnât have a rubber o-ring for the lid and for my purposes isnât necessary. It also doesnât dispense every last drop via the spout. How could another make, I wouldnât know. Itâs cheap, functions perfectly and as advertised, and has paid for itself twice in the first month, including coffee and milk. Sorry Starbucks …

Great jar if you throw away the filter
As delivered, this unit is a problem. The filter leaves a coffee sludge at the bottom of the jar. The filter and jar become hard to clean when empty. But reading other reviews I decided to try disposable cold brew filter bags instead of the provided filter. Now we love this jar.Take the advice of people who have tried. Throw away the provided filter and buy cold brew filter bags. The bags clean up in a snap. Throw away the bag and just rinse the jar when done. No sludge at the bottom of the jar to deal with. And the coffee taste is awesome. But buy the 6â x 10â bags since the bigger sizes get stuck in the jar. FYI we have tried several brands of filter bags and they all work great.

Great item
This item is greatI’ll do a pros and cons list I’ll start with theProsIt has a nice metal spicket also where the spicket is placed you don’t have to worry about getting coffee residue in your drink not until you get to the bottom then you might want to filter through something I personally don’t like a residue in my drink so I run it through filter once I’m closer to the bottomThe glass is a nice weight it nice tight-fitting lid wish it was just a touch heavier DutyAnd the end product is awesome not quite a concentrate but stronger than a cold brew style coffeeHere are the cons and I’m being awfully nitpickyI didn’t get any documentation with this item I looked everywhere in the Box on the outside of the box everything it’s not hard to use obviously but I was just trying to see how much coffee they recommended and right off hand I don’t remember I think I used about a pound of coffee I did call them and let them know they took care of me so thanksIt’s a little heavy not for me but if this was for an older couple or something I could see where this might be a touch heavy it would be nice if it had a handle but if you add a handle you’re upping the price and then you have to worry about getting it sealed properSome people might find this a con or a Pro it’s up to you the end results again it’s not quite a coffee concentrate like the KitchenAid cold brew system but stronger than a cold brew it’s in between so what makes a difference well it is coffee to water ratio for this item to make concentrate it would have to hold more coffee just adding a longer steep time will only make your product bitter but in the end it’s a fantastic Brewing System especially if you go through a lot of coffee I’ve been a barista for almost 20 years and I have a lot of cold brew systems I have The Toddy maker I have the KitchenAid ice Brew maker I have another item very similar to this but just makes less now I’m the proud owner of this item it’s a fantastic item if you’re on the fence for the price you can’t beat it I would recommend
