Solid Grinder Worth More Than It Costs
This Normcore V2 is a well-built piece of coffee equipment that easily compares to grinders twice the price, and has a very sleek look. It seems to be a clone of the Helor 101, or at least uses the same burrs from what Lance Hedrick and Kyle Rowsell found in their reviews. The body is constructed from matte black aluminum with full-length internal stabilizing bars to prevent wobbling, there’s a helpful silicone grip that can also affix to the handle, and it has a practical capacity of about 35 grams for the 44mm model. It also grinds extremely quickly, and I was genuinely surprised the first several times I used it because I didn’t expect to be finished so soon. I timed it at roughly 30 seconds to grind 20 grams for filter coffee. The Normcore V2 also uses a stepped grind adjustment featuring 24 clicks per rotation, which I much prefer over stepless adjustments for the sake of repeatability. I find that my brews typically taste best between 36 to 44 clicks, and have used it for V60, Chemex, and Kalita with no issue. I did notice that it initially produced a lot of fines out of the box, which muddied my first several brews, but this resolved after burning through about 10oz of coffee to season the burrs a bit. This is still an ongoing process after my first week using it, as it seems like each subsequent brew is still tasting a little bit better than the last one. I would not necessarily recommend using this grinder for espresso given a limited ability to make the kind of micro-adjustments necessary for dialing shots, but I have no doubt that it could be serviceably used for that purpose if the need arose. I have not tried it for my Bialetti yet, though I see no reason why it wouldn’t perform well for that given the slightly coarser grind when compared to espresso.Last but not least, the storage case and cleaning tools are both very useful, and a pleasantly surprising inclusion at this price point. I would definitely make sure to keep the case upright during storage or when travelling, as it’s not very snug inside and things can move around a bit. That said, they could have easily and reasonably charged the same amount without including any of those accessories, so this is definitely not a complaint. All in all, this is a great grinder, a wonderful value for the money, and a welcome addition to my coffee collection. I highly recommend it for yours too!

BUY IT!
If youâre looking to up your game without pricing out to go to an electric grinder, this is the ONE!Perfect grind quality. Way out punches the Hario I had previously! Easiest hand grinder Iâve ever used!!Quiet, perfect consistency for taste, and super easy to disassemble and clean!!

Great grinder
Great grinder, the only reason for the 4 star review is because there is no numbered way to count grind setting, therefore you need to tighten it all the way and count clicks to get it to the right setting.

Best decision of my life
My soft frail hands couldnât handle grinding it so after hooking up my Milwaukee drill to it, I was able to grind it faster than you could comprehend. After placing my hands on the Milwaukee drill, I could instantly feel my testosterone levels increase. I realize coffeeâs for losers and I began lifting weights over the course of two years I put on 45 pounds of muscle and reached a 500 pound dead lift. I have a beautiful wife and three fantastic children that I would never have had, if it wasnât for this grinder 10 out of 10 would recommend.

High Quality and Reliability. Awesome coffee results!
I absolutely love this coffee hand grinder. I bought this grinder as a replacement for my recently broken ceramic burr hand grinder. The coffee grind size is much more consistent than my ceramic burr grinder was. I bought the larger burr option of 48mm (in the black color). This grinder is solid and feels wonderful when using it. I only drink pour over coffee and this is the best grinder that Iâve used in my 56 years of life. This will be the last grinder that Iâll ever need. All internal parts are CNC machined with precision, no plastic whatsoever. Plastic internal bushings and other pieces are what broke in my previous ceramic burr hand grinder. This hand grinder is very fast, much faster than my previous ceramic burr hand grinder. I look forward to using this each day, and I carry it back and forth to work. The carrying/storage case is also very high quality. I cannot say anything negative about this coffee hand grinder. I highly recommend this hand grinder to anyone any everyone who is as particular about their coffee as I am. Thank you for an amazing product.

Wonderful grinder

not the best choice for espresso
The grinder is well made using quality materials. However, if you are looking for espresso grind and using the light roast beans then get ready for a serious workout. My wife could not use it for this scenario, but your mileage may vary.

I tried them ALL….this one wins, hands down.
A friend recently introduced me to the beauty of a slow, pour-over coffee….so when I discovered that they didn’t own a burr grinder, I set out on a quest to find the perfect one for their space. The qualifications were, 1- it had to fit comfortably in a small kitchen with limited counter space, 2- it had to look and feel like a quality item, and 3- it had to be pleasant to use AND actually work well (which after testing about 10 different grinders, I discovered was actually an issue with many of them!). This grinder is impeccable in all ways. I tested electric and manual grinders and compared grind speeds and consistency…..and this outstripped all the others I tried. I did not venture into the above $150 price category, so cannot speak those higher dollar units, but in the $150 and below cautery, I feel confident in saying you will be hard pressed to find a higher quality product with a more satisfying grind experience. I also highly recommend this larger size. It perfectly holds enough beans for two cups of coffee.

The Normcore Hand Coffee Grinder is a delightful addition to my coffee brewing ritual. This manual coffee grinder has exceeded my expectations in terms of both design and performance. From the sleek CNC stainless steel construction to the consistent grind quality, it’s a perfect blend of form and function.First and foremost, the build quality is impressive. The CNC stainless steel body not only looks elegant but also ensures durability and longevity. It feels solid in hand, and the handle operates smoothly, making the grinding process effortless. The grinder is compact and portable, making it an ideal companion for camping trips or travel. I love the capacity of 35g, which is perfect for preparing a couple of cups of freshly ground coffee. The grind consistency is outstanding. It offers a wide range of grind settings, allowing me to customize the coarseness to suit various brewing methods, from pour-over to French press. The burr mechanism grinds the coffee beans evenly, preserving their flavors and aromas. The result is a consistently flavorful cup of coffee that rivals the quality of electric grinders.

If youâre a keen coffee lover and like to grind your own beans then this is for you. Really well made adjustable and consistent grind unlike electric grinders which always seem to give a mixture of dust and ground. Has made a great gift for my husband⦠from himself lol.
