Long-lasting and easy
I got this coffee maker to replace the same one we’d had for years when it finally went kaput. This one is exactly the same and I’m a fan. No, it doesn’t have the fancy options of a timer, a clock, or anything. It just has an on and off switch. But that just means it has fewer parts to break. This thing works great, makes good coffee, can make quite a lot of coffee at once if you want, has no defects, and should last forever. It’s easy to clean with some vinegar as often as you like. That’s all I really need from a good coffee maker.

Coffee maker
The on/off switch doesn’t work perfectly. Sometimes it doesn’t snap all the way and the on light doesn’t go on but it is easy to flip it all the way.It is a cheap price for a coffee maker that makes coffee well. I would rather buy low priced coffee makers like this one and replace them every couple years with a new looking one rather than have an expensive one get old and ugly and keep using it because I paid so much for it. This one I don’t need to do maintenance; I just replace it with another Mr. Coffee maker and keep the old glass craft container in case the new one breaks and I need a replacement.

Great coffee maker
Ive purchased this to replace the exact same coffee maker Iâve had for a year and a half. Iâm only replacing because I canât clean deep into the water tub and I want a fresh clean maker. Iâve had no issues with my pot except for the difficulty cleaning the tank. This is a Simple coffee maker- mine has held up perfectly which is why Iâve purchased it again. I didnât need any clock or programming- I prefer the basic style. Great coffee maker.

As I had hoped
The only reason this is a four star coffee maker is because of the price. It’s built cheap with no quality control as evidenced by all the premature breakdowns, but this is my second and it was still working when I retired it although it did have a rusted warming plate. The heating element is cheap iron and the paint even cheaper. It did slow down over the years even with periodic vinegar cleaning but the coffee was pretty much the same from the first cup to the last. The only reason I changed is because I wanted a maker with a mechanical switch instead of an electronic one so I could plug it into a smart outlet and control it with voice or programmed timer. That is the only difference from old to new. It still has the two holes in the back of the water tank so if you over fill it clean water will drip down the back onto your counter instead of coffee over flowing the carafe onto your electrical warmer plate. The drip arm still swings out of the way and automatically swings back when the lid is closed and the basket as a spring valve that closes when the carafe is removed for the impatient. If either the basket or carafe isn’t seated properly, the valve won’t be open and you’ll have coffee everywhere but in the carafe. You’ll only make that mistake once because you almost have to work at it to get it wrong. I’ve the old one so long I really can’t remember how long I’ve had it so that means at least 5 years and maybe up to 10 but most likely 6 to 7. If I get 5 out of this one I’ll think I got my money’s worth. BTW, the smart outlet works great so I now start my coffee from bed. Now if I could just figure out the newspaper.

Lid doesnât fit, drips, and now doesnât work
Our former long lasting Mr. Coffee coffee maker burned out after more than 10 years and we were searching for a replacement. We were just looking for a simple coffee maker that would last as long as the other one. We ordered this model for $29.99 and were taken aback when it arrived. The Mr. Coffee brand to me has always meant an inexpensive well made coffee maker that just does what it is supposed to do. For starters, the lid didnât close. Then when we did make coffee the auto pause feature for getting coffee during the brew cycle didnât work well and always dribbled coffee onto the heating element. So two days ago, after less than a year of use… the coffee pot refused to make coffee. The green light was on indicating that it has power, but nothing happens. My first thought when I saw the ill fitting lib was that this has to be a Chinese knockoff… and the product has done nothing to improve my opinion.

One of the Best Values in a Coffee Maker – And Smart Outlet Compatible!
Reread the headline. I don’t say that lightly. For one single Hamilton, you get a coffee maker that does one thing very well that will likely last for years.I originally had the programmable 8 cup version of this coffee maker that included an insulated pot, and that one finally, after ten years, died a week ago. That model does not appear to be available anymore, but I would have absolutely purchased it again save for one thing – you cannot control it with a smart outlet. Then I found this model. Not only is this 12-cup machine exactly the same design internally, but the 12-cup pot is a nice bonus, and even better, the 8-cup insulated pot from my previous machine fits exactly! This one brews with the same consistency, uses the same filter size, and can be left switched on to provide brewing on demand via a smart outlet. Yes, I am raving about a $20 coffee maker that is less featured than the one it replaced! Again, $20. The previous one last 10 years!Compared to the $180 Krupps machine that failed after just two years, this coffee maker is simply a bargain that you are unlikely to beat anywhere if all you want is basic brewing.Just remember that if you are like me and insist on reusing an older 8-cup pot for your brew, don’t fill the water reservoir with the 12!

Nothing fancy, works fine.
Makes coffee fine, I don’t like the basket style of coffee brewers as well as the cone style. The design is less space efficient than others I’ve used, I don’t have extra counter space. Niether con nor pro, but the feet on this don’t slide, so if you want to move it you have to pick it up. The overflow holes are about an inch and a half below the top of the well. Best way to add water in poor light is to fill the carafe and pour from there. If you are using bottled water straight in to the well, its likely your going to overflow till you get the hang of it.
