HOW TO SOLVE the water spewing out
EDIT: DO read instructions on HOW to truly flush out machine (Pushing both buttons at once) if if if this machine ever starts giving you half full cups. YOu must then push BOTH the bottom 2 buttons at same time to trigger a true flush of system. This IS in the instruction manuel, which no one reads.AnywaYMy first few days with this, the water DID leak out from two places, from the bottom of the removable water tank, ( i did not have it pushed in far enough/tight enough, so once i took Extra care to ensure the tank is 100% on completely? problem solved)HOwever, like i said, the water leaked from two places, the 2nd place being from the top, as if the water could not/would not go Through the coffee pod. To solve THAT? I made habit of always punching the coffee pod with the lid twice. You know that lid that comes down after you place a pod in the cup? Lift that lid back up agian, and press it down ONE MORE TIME to ensure the hole in top side of the coffee pod is well made.SINCE THEN? I have made 100s of cups of coffee, NO MORE LEAKS. Just those two steps—-ensure that the removable tank is 100% re-attached super perfectly.and step two————for some reason——- punch the top of the coffee pod TWO times with the top lid that comes down over it. TA-DA !! ZERO LEAKS ever since then.and also——–I like this because it has a removable water tank which is VIP to me. Most keurig type of coffee makers have a water tank that sit there full of water all day and all night long, getting slimey with water in place 24/7. There is not alot you can do about it to get that tank super clean and dry Every every day……………Which is exactly why we bought THIS machine.————- Every night, or =========soon as we are done making morning coffees, —————we take off the tank, turn it upside down onto the cup holder area of the machine so it can air dry to become bone dry to prevent that slime, and in addition we also remove and open up the pod receptacle to air, and leave it all to air dry all night, to prevent that secret slime building up in the machine. …………………………….so, that is our slime phobia thing, is those slime ridden tanks found in most coffee machines. But not THIS one, so yay!! We are very happy with this machine. NO SLIME! Easy to keep dry every day.It is nice and small, and we are very pleased to have a coffee machine that is both narrow and has a removable tank. Coffee is piping Hot.On the downside, ———————the little cup holder thing does seem flimsy IF IF IF you do choose to set the cup holder thing up high. We do not, we just put our cup on the thing at the bottom. How to explain, see, the little thing you set your empty cup upon? that thing, is ‘adjustable’ so IF you wanted to, you ‘could’ move that tray up higher. (why?) So If you do choose to move the cup tray up higher? the tray does not seem super sturdy, but who knows. We are happy to have our cup down lower, we do not raise the tray up higher. (i’m not sure what is the point to do that,, ? it is harder to get cup IN and OUt of the tray if you hook it up higher..) IF you leave the cup tray down low? is perfectly fine, then it is Not flimsy/very sturdy. We rate it 5 stars for small size and removable tank. Works just fine, no leakage since we learned to punch pod TWO times and to ensure the water tank is on tightly and perfectly.

Replace your Keurig machine – this is better (but not perfect)
UPDATE: After having this coffee maker for several weeks now, I’ve raised my rating to 4.5 stars. It really is a very solid, simple machine, much quieter than my Keurig, heats up very quickly, and I have to say that the coffee (same K-cups) does actually taste better. Not sure if this is water temperature and/or brewing method, but there is an improvement. Overall, my only real complaint is the small water reservoir – I get about 3 to 4 cups before needing to refill. If you have overhead access and a Brita pitcher or the like, you can fill the reservoir in place, but I have to slide out the coffee maker and remove the container to fill. I’d rather it was a larger unit overall with removable reservoirs on both sides.——————-To be fair, I’ve only had this coffee maker for one day, but so far I really like it. It takes up less counter space than my failed (second one to fail) Keurig machine, it’s easy to fill the removable container, and it does heat up quickly as advertized. Removing the used K-cup, it appeared to be slightly deformed or wrinkled, and my guess is that this is caused by a higher water temperature used by this maker, and that’s generally a good thing. One thing is for certain, it’s a LOT quieter and smoother sounding than the Keurig (which always sounded like there was an immense internal struggle involved in brewing a cup of coffee). As a few reviewers stated, for those of us who have been trained on the classic Keurig machine, it’s going to take a while to remember to insert the K-cup and immediately close the lid; otherwise, the lights will simply continue to flash. The manual says that after initial power-up, there will be a 30 second preheat delay after first closing the lid before you can brew your first cup of coffee. Based on what another reviewer stated, it appears that this unit will only preheat and continue to maintain the preheated “ready to brew” state if the lid is closed – but I have not tested just turning the unit ON with the lid open for an extended period to see if this is the case. After the first cup, it appears to be ready to brew the next cup immediately. Regardless, Keurig users – close the lid first or you will wait all day for the lights to turn on solid indicating that it’s ready to brew.NOTE: Both this machine and the Keurig (at least the classic model) are similar in that you have to wait for the unit to be ready before pressing a button to brew the coffee. Both units have a small microprocessor, and I simply can’t understand why they wouldn’t allow you to turn it on and as soon as you close the lid accept your button press to start the brew – then if it does have to preheat, at least you can walk away and come back to a cup off coffee rather than standing there waiting for the unit to be ready to go.One other minor thing (somewhat typical of many machines of this type) is that the water reservoir is too small. I usually brew 10oz cups of coffee, so at 48oz capacity, you have to fill it often. During the week I’ll just make one cup in the morning before work, and it sure would be nice to get through an entire week without having to fill the machine, considering it is all I can do to push the button most mornings. Also a bit annoying is the fact that the “minimum” water level line in the canister (after which the unit will not brew) appears to be at least 10oz, so it certainly doesn’t look empty but nonetheless needs to be filled. In my opinion, rather than using a larger water reservoir, a better design would be to have 2 water reservoirs, and the unit would empty one before switching to the other automatically. That way you could almost always brew a cup, and while brewing remove and refill the empty container.

My MIXPRESSO arrived this very morning. My old coffee maker died a horrible death three days ago. My reactions: 1. Easy to unpack and assemble. 2. Instructions clear and well written. 3. Initial cleaning took no longer than the making of a cup of coffee. 4. Adjusted my cup size to second from biggest and installed my favorite cup. 5. Almost instantly the smell of freshly brewed coffee tempted my nostrils. 6. The coffee was perfectly brewed and as tasty as any even though my cup was larger than normal for a K-cup. I think by now you get the idea, I am writing this while enjoying my second cup and I sincerely and wholeheartedly say this unit is of exceptional quality and makes great coffee! Impressed? You bet! Satisfied? Extremely! If you are considering purchasing a coffee maker, look no further, this is an exceptional unit from any evaluation method I can conjure up. I don’t normally write evaulations, but if I did not write this I would actually feel bad. 5 STARS PLUS!!

Hands down, the best single-cup brewer we have ever owned. You can customize your three cup sizes and everything about using it is super simple! We love the reservoir that is just the right size. Not too small, not too big. Heats water in seconds. Auto-turn off is nice to conserve energy. Who wants to continuously reheat water 24/7? This brewer is so fast, you donât need to reheat water at all. Weâre so impressed with this brewer that when it kicks the can, weâll get another. Great price for a simple, yet excellent single-cup brewer. Canât ask for more.
