This would easily be a 5 start review with a little more adjustability
This is an OK WDT tool, with potential to be great.If you have a 18-20g basket in your portafilter, I feel the needles don’t go deep enough into the basket, even at full lock. I tried to disassemble it and see what I could do, but in the end, I had to cut one of the locking rings from the shaft with my dremel tool to allow the pins to reach a little deeper. That modification gave me another 1/8th of an inch, and still the pins aren’t rubbing the bottom of the basket.Also the modification I mention makes it so the needles stick a little past the bottom of the device, so a stand for it sit in similar to other WDT on the market would be a nice addition, and I would happily pay more for that.More adjustability and a way to use standard WDT needles would make this 5 stars and easily my favorite WDT tool. As it stands having to modify it to make it work for larger shots is a real bummer and hard to do without scratching the black finish. I scratched mine and had to spot paint it. That and the lacking stand for it to sit in makes this 3 stars IMO.

Almost Perfect
I love the idea of this product and have bought 2 of them. It definitely speeds up workflow and allows you to wdt in a cafe environment to give your customers a better tasting cup of coffee. Itâs a great price when you compare it to a Moonraker or AutoComb and has a great form factor and didnât take up much room on the barThe issue I have been having with the build quality is that the needles can be easily bent over time. Especially if you are not careful with how fast it spins. They come with extra needles which is nice. But I have not been able to purchase additional needles.

Possibly the best WDT tool out there at the moment
Purchased this because I was getting quite tired of the workflow of the Autocomb. The way this device works is that instead of having to roll your palm across the autocomb handle at a specific speed, you push down for one spin cycle.I find it much easier to control the speed and tempo this way since you are using gravity and the weight of your hand for speed tuning rather than wrist dexterity. This may be overthinking it but the summary is that this is much more ergonomic for me than an Autocomb or any 3D Printed tool I’ve tried.The magnets seem very secure and not overly magnetic to the point where taking it off will disrupt the coffee bed. The rubber grip band around the base was a nice touch as well.There are a few things I would have liked changed but that won’t hinder my scoring of this product since I really enjoy it. I do wish there was a proper stand for it because as of now if you let it rest on the counter and accidentally push down on it, the needles will make contact with whatever the tool is resting on. This isn’t a big deal unless you push hard enough to bend the needles. You could just put it on a spare portafilter or basket when its not in use though.Another is that the depth while being okay enough for the overwhelming majority of people can only go down to a certain point (which makes sense since it only goes down just a little shy of the base so the needles don’t get damaged.) If you are using 24-26G baskets for whatever reason, you may find that the needles will not reach the bottom tenth of the basket. Whether or not this is is a real issue after WDTing the top 90% and tamping is speculation.It only comes with about 6-8 replacement needles and they do not seem to be the same as the standard acupuncture or 3D printed needles most of us use in our tools. As of the writing of this review, there is no easy way to purchase extras. Maybe it will be an available buy in the future otherwise you may have to contact MHW-3Bomber for replacements.

Item arrived used with coffee grounds on the needles. Only 4 spare needles were included and not all the same. Also the needles do not reach the bottom of the filter basket. Considering returning.
