Poor Quality Product *With Update*
I was excited to try this product as I was missing my Senseo pods and couldn’t find them for a decent price.I received my box and when I opened the first package of coffee it was a mess. Grounds fell out all over the counter. About 6 pods were partially sealed and have busted open to leave a mess to clean up. Now I am feeling upset over this purchase as I thought I was getting a good deal. I am scared to see what mess I am going to find in the remaining 5 unopened packages. If 6 pods are bad and a mess in each package…Mama’s not gonna be happy at all.As for the taste it is good. It is a bit bitter but still tastes good with my creamer and stevia. Amazon is great as always.Unfortunately, I am very dissatisfied with this purchase and will not continue my subscribe and save option. I will be taking this to the manufacturer as well.*Updated*I finally opened my last bag this morning on 1/2/2013 and again a mess of coffee grounds and busted pods. Only 2 bags out of this box were not in shambles. Very disappointed with this purchase, I cancelled my subscription and will absolutely not be buying these anymore.Update 7/2013: My review was removed from this page. Hopefully they have improved their product. Still upset to see my review removed as well as my photos.

I have used these to replace senseo coffee pods and am happy with them considering that American coffee has such a dreadful reputation, I was very surprised at how strong they are.

Tastes great
I have purchased Melitta dark roast coffee pods well over 20 times and this is my go to every single time. I always purchase the 6 pack as we go through it so fast. It always arrives fresh and never has a bitter taste. It has a deep intense flavor that is sure to satisfy everyone’s taste buds. Plus the pod is biodegradable thus saving the environment. Just one cup of this will get you hooked. Give it a try.

Like the convenience of a fresh hot cup for each individual, as needed. Good coffee. Not happy about recent price increase. About to exceed “efficient cost per cup.”

Good substitute for out of production Senseo pods.
I had been using Senseo pods in my Senseo coffee maker. Makes sense, right? Then Phillips decided to get out of the coffee pod business and discontinued them. I turned to make-your-own pods and that worked, cost less but were too much trouble to bother with. Turned to these pods by Melitta. Work great. Flavor is decent enough. Maybe as good as the original.Bottom line: Don’t waste your time with pod making contraptions. Just get these. Cheaper than the old Senseo pods and every bit as good. I’d give them five stars but no pod or filter coffee deserves that. Only fresh ground and that’s an even bigger bother.

Melitta Coffee Pods
My whole family liked the Melitta coffee pods in Dark Roast very well. We sampled several blends that Amazon carries and then finally settled on the Melitta Dark Roast. Only once did we receive a package with a broken pod that spilled coffee grounds in the bag. Never any in the box, all the metal bags were intact. We were on a subscription plan where they sent me so many every 3 months (my choice for amount and frequency) This worked perfectly as I could call and have them ship an extra box of 6 bags whenever a crisis came up or I could call and have them drop back a 6/box if we seemed to be piling up the bags.I had read that one person dampened her pods to get a richer flavor so thats what I did most mornings. My husband who loves his coffee very dark did not dampen his cause he said it was just as good without it. (oh well) Everyone that was served my coffee just thought it was really good. This Dark Roast is good and rich but not bitter. I especially liked the way my senseo caused some “crema” to be formed on the top, so professional looking! Good thing is we could use the one pod brewer for a small cup or the two pod for a larger cup. All was working very well until my senseo started going on the blink. I repaired it a few times but husband wanted to try a Kuerig. Well, if you wanna see what I think of the Keurig, look for my review. And don’t let anyone take your senseo away just yet!

Perfect for a small cup of coffee
Great flavor nice and strong. But only if you follow the instructions – 2 pods for 6oz (a small cup of coffee) or 1 pod for 4 oz. Who drinks only 4 ounces of coffee?So for the pack of 18 pods, you basically get 9 cups of coffee.We use this for when I don’t want to make a huge regular pot of coffee and just want a little quick cup. Love it, will order more.
