Perfect coffee maker!
I concur with other reviews – the coffee maker is great. I used one in Europe & thought I’d try it as I’ve done cone drip for years. I don’t like coffee makers usually since the water isn’t hot enough. This one is hot. It’s nice to have the bold function & works well. I transfer coffee to a thermos to stay fresher. It’s a good size on the counter.

Tired of going through Cuisinarts! This is Awesome!
Okay, first it doesnât stay on 4 hours like our previous Cuisinarts, itâs 2 hours and thatâs fine because the coffee is awesome! It holds 2 cups less but thatâs fine too.We were replacing Cuisinarts every 2 years for one reason or another and I was actually not liking my coffee anymore! (SAY IT AINâT SO!) Iâm quite sure my baby bottles contained coffee. This Melitta is more compact, a good thing.Simple and sleek.Easy! No spills. Do drips. No scorching.Touch the brew button for 2 more hours, easy.Makes very good coffee. I use Starbucks Breakfast Blend and Iâm loving my coffee again.Brews hot coffee, which you can control.Great purchase!

ALMOST PERFECT
great coffee maker for my needs. only complaint – clock is 24 hour clock only. I look at a clock to learn the time not to do math. But it makes a great cup of coffee

Best Coffee Maker for the money!
After our old coffeemaker went on the fritz, I jumped right in to doing the research on a new one and came across the Melitta Aroma Tocco. While I knew the brand primarily from other coffee making accessories over the years, I hadn’t seen many coffee machines from them in the retail space. I didn’t want to purchase another Cuisinart or Hamilton Beach machine as we’d never had very good luck with either of those brands, nor did we really want to shell out for something like a Breville. Looking at the reviews and specs for this one, it seemed the best possible option and I can say, we have not been let down.PROS: This machine is easy to setup, easy to program, easy to clean and it doesn’t take up a huge amount of counter space. The brews and temperatures remain very consistent, plus being a 12-cup machine is a big plus in a house that has two avid coffee drinkers. Both of us also love the stainless steel look since it wipes down very easy and always looks neat.CONS: The one down side is that the heater turns off after two hours form the time it finishes brewing. There isn’t an option to extend this, but all you have to do it press the power button on and it will turn the pot heating element back on for another two hours.Overall, this is a great coffeemaker for the price. Obviously, you don’t have to look hard to find the right filters for it either since they are practically the brand of choice in every grocery store. I do recommend running a cleaning cycle through your machine weekly to keep the brew and taste consistent. I use a cup of vinegar and then fill the rest up with filtered water to the 12-cup mark and run it on the “Bold” cycle. Once that runs through, I repeat with just a full pot of filtered water to flush out any of the vinegar. I also recommend using filtered water to avoid any mineral buildup in your machine. Not everyone has the same tap water quality, so the filtered water will help both the taste and prolong the life of your machine.

Great brand, dissapointing product
Pros: low profile, good clean look, soft touch controls, nice wide water level viewCons: one temp warmer… scalding! much too hot (for me anyway), two choice brew selector virtually indistinguishable outcome… bland, flat-bottom conical filter basket doesn’t allow as good of a final product as their other models with narrow bottom conical baskets, and brews much too quickly to produce good flavorful coffee.I like Melita products and have used them fairly exclusively for decades. This one is dissapointing compared to others of theirs, especially for this price point – a $35 typical US brand would do the same.I won’t bother returning it but rather donate or give it away to someone less discerning, after I find a carafe to fit my prior Melita.

Grounds in my coffee
I’ve had my Melitta almost three years now, but only use it in my RV. I liked the light weight of it and it’s easy to store away when in motion. The coffee tastes good as long as it’s set to BOLD (and I’m not a fan of strong coffee). My problem with the coffee maker: no matter what I do to even out the cone filter, I get coffee grounds IN my coffee. I usually make 10 cups for my husband and I and it never fails. The grounds are in the pot, outside the filter area and between the filter and plastic cone. I’ve made LESS cups of coffee and still get the same but not as much. There’s no alert that the coffee is ready or that the coffee maker is turning off. Lastly, I have to set the auto-brew at least 30 minutes prior to my first cup or it won’t be very hot. It will be tolerably hot, but not the “hot” I like.Lastly, the handle and metal strap around the carafe are always shifting. I fear Iâm going to shatter the glass when readjusting back to the correct position.

I’ve been using nothing but Melitta drip method to make coffee for nearly 40 years. I purchased a small 6 cup (2.5 mug) Melitta drip maker around 1985, and I still use it. I also have two one cup pour-over and one 10 cup pour-over makers. I wanted a larger automatic coffee maker for years and I purchased at least three different ones. I’ve since given them all away. I was thrilled when I discovered Melitta was making this machine, and I didn’t hesitate to buy one. I have not been disappointed. This is a simple machine and makes wonderful coffee the Melita way. If you’re looking for a bunch of bells and whistles, this might not be the machine for you. If your looking for coffee brewed using the traditional Melitta pour-over method, I recommend this maker.

It is great! Only draw-backs are the “pause and pour”, which does drip one drop every time, and the lid handle, which does not have enough length for an average thumb to hold back during filling (but my non-Melitta was like that too!) Update: Two days after I wrote this review, the coffee-maker died! 🙁
