Our founder, Melitta Bentz, invented coffee filters and pour-over brewing in 1908. For over 100 years, Melitta has remained a pioneer in coffee, coffee filters and coffee brewers. Our paper filters are 100% biodegradable. We offer filters for cone, flat bottom basket, percolators and Keurig single serve coffee brewers. Our filters are produced using chlorine-free white, natural brown and bamboo paper. In addition to filters, we offer a wide range of coffees and brewers including pour- overs, carafes, pour-over kits, coffee makers, kettles, drip coffeemakers, and even our own premium, batch-roasted coffee. Our coffee beans are sourced from farms located in prime coffee-producing regions. We batch roast and grind our beans extra fine in true European fashion – bringing out the coffee’s full flavor. Enjoy our entire range of ground coffees, whole bean coffees, and single serve coffee pods.

Great filter. Doesn’t have the wood pulp smell as it is bamboo.
Really makes a great pour over.

Right on. Works great, cheap, convenient
Right on. Forget about your Keurig machine. You can still use the pods, of course, just open them up and dump the contents into this single cup filter. There is a small single cup drip holder you can find of Amazon or elsewhere. It’s fast, convenient and if you find the Keurig pod coffee too weak, like me, them just toss a couple of them in this setup and Bob’s your uncle. Of course fresh ground coffee can be put in it (that’s what it’s designed for).

    Household staple
As pour over people, we need the cone filters still. Melitta is the only brand of coffee filter I will use. I know some people insist it is one of those items that any brand will do but I always stick with Melitta.

Easy to use on pour-over coffee pot, tastes great!
Bought myself a pour-over Bodum to try it out after reading about them for ages. I like switching coffee makers around to have variety in the taste of coffee – each method brings a different intensity of flavor, of bitterness, of extraction, even with same or similar coffee beans.Pour-overs generally come with a reusable filter. Mine came with a fine nylon mesh. My burr grinder does not exactly grind to the coarse drip coffee grind that I need – while none are larger than the set size, plenty of coffee dust is generated. Same with the industrial grinders at grocery stores – plenty of finer particles mixed into the grind. These make their way into the coffee pot through the reusable filters, making the coffee taste muddy. This inexpensive solution of adding a paper coffee filter to the reusable cone drastically improves the taste of my final result. It also serves to decrease the flow rate, which means the beans spend more time mingling with the hot water, leading to better results overall. No muddy taste in the coffee at all. Additionally, my lazy side loves the convenience of tossing the filter and spent grounds into the trash (or compost when the weather is warm) instead of spending time washing the oils and fine grounds from the reusable mesh.

    Sustainable source of paper
This bamboo product is as good as the brown paper one and, I believe comes from a more sustainable source than other trees.

Expensive, but Amazon finally refunded my money
The filters are great, but I gave the item only 4 stars because of customer service issues with Amazon. I bought these coffee filters last week and assumed that I was getting a 6-pack of 80 filters for $17.90. When the package arrived, there was only 1 box of 80 filters. I apparently clicked by mistake on the 1 pack selection instead of the 6 pack selection (which costs approx. $23). Even though I didn’t open the item, Amazon first refused to accept a return of the item. I then emailed Amazon customer service and received emails promptly from a call center. Amazon still wouldn’t accept a return. (The 1 pack selection now has been reduced to approx. $12, which is still expensive.) After more emails (saying I would “vote with my feet” if this wasn’t resolved), Amazon finally agreed that it would credit me for the costs of these filters. Amazon didn’t want the box of filters back, so I was told to keep them. Bottom line: Amazon finally did the right thing and I’m satisfied. (I might add that I buy a lot of items from Amazon, so maybe this helped.) I am a little disappointed that it took so many emails to resolve this, but no vendor is perfect always.
