MatchaBar Ceremonial Grade Matcha Powder: Family-farmed in Nishio, Japan, our Ceremonial Grade Matcha is made with young green tea leaves ground and blended into a silky smooth powder. Both rich in caffeine for energy and L-theanine for focus, our matcha will help you stay energized without the jitters or the crash. 1.05 oz (30 servings)
Packed with Nutritional Value: All of our matcha comes from the first harvest of the season, using younger shade-grown leaves from the very top of the plant specifically chosen for high nutritional value and a smooth flavor profile. With 10x the antioxidants normally found in green tea, our Matcha Powder will help boost your immune system and set you up to take on any challenge.
Authentic Japanese Origin: Blended and crafted by our co-founder Max Fortgang, our matcha is certified ceremonial grade by our tea master in Nishio, Japan. Our tea master is one of only 15 in the world with a 10th level “tea master” or “chashi” certification, working to craft the smoothest ceremonial grade matcha in the world.
High-Quality Matcha: We work with family-owned farms that use only the best practices and machinery specifically built for the production of matcha under the supervision of our tea master. Our matcha powder is non-GMO, gluten-free, vegan, & sugar-free.
Our Story: In 2014, brothers Max & Graham Fortgang developed their own blend of ceremonial grade matcha and opened America’s first matcha cafe, MatchaBar, in Brooklyn. They’ve been spreading the word across the country ever since, giving people the energy to be themselves one matcha at a time.

High-quality matcha with smooth taste and vibrant color. Perfect energy boost!
Iâve tried a lot of matcha brands, and MatchaBar Ceremonial Grade Matcha is the one I keep repurchasing. The vibrant green color and fresh, earthy aroma hit you as soon as you open the tin, and you can just tell itâs high quality. The flavor is smooth and not bitter at all, which makes it perfect for both traditional matcha and lattes. I like to mix it with milk and add vanilla syrup. It gives me a clean, steady energy boost and feels like a little wellness ritual every time I make it. But be carefulâdonât drink too much or too strong a concentration in the afternoon. Iâve learned the hard way that it can keep you up at night if you overdo it!I also love that itâs sourced from family farms in Japan and crafted with such care. You can taste the difference in every sip. If youâre looking for authentic, ceremonial-grade matcha, this is the real deal. Highly recommend!

My favorite
Iâm picky with my matcha. Switched out coffee for matcha in about 2019 or 2020. Iâve tried tons of matcha powders, from online and grocery stores. This is the best one I have found. The flavor is consistent. I love that the brand is transparent about the sourcing of the matcha. Itâs very very finely milled, I donât sift this at all and my matcha latte is always clump free. I have this on a regular delivery schedule because I donât want to be without it!

Taste is better than others

Pretty good
Pretty good, lovely color. Quality is good for price. This one seems more vegetal in flavor to me (reminded me of celery or cucumber), so it’s not quite my preference. However, my local chocolatier says I have no palate, so it could be worth a try!

I love coffee, but now Iâm a matcha convert
I first tried matcha in latte form a few years ago. I realized that I got an alert feeling from it without the jittery feeling that I tend to get from my beloved coffee. I purchased some culinary grade matcha so that I could enjoy my lattes at home. After learning more about matcha, I realized that I was missing out on some of the health benefits that come with drinking matcha in only water. (Milk binds to the polyphenols which causes them to flush through your body with absorbing.) I tried preparing my culinary grade in just water. It worked, but it was bitter and left kind of a weird mouth feel. I wouldnât consider it a pleasant experience. More like taking a medicine that you are forced to talk vector will make you better.I decided to try a ceremonial grade matcha which is intended to be prepared and consumed in just water. The difference in huge! The ceremonial grade is smooth, very little bitterness, and pleasurable to drink. It seems expensive, but when you read about all the work that goes into harvesting matcha of this grade, you can understand why the price is high. If you compare it to what many people spend on coffee out on a weekly basis, it still would cost less, and you get amazing health benefits. Many, myself included, donât love the taste of matcha on first try. I would suggest giving it a week with a ceremonial grade matcha. I found that now I look forward to drinking my matcha as I did my morning coffee.Iâm sure that their are even higher quality ceremonial matchas out there, but this one works perfectly for my everyday use. I will definitely continue to purchase.

Smoothest matcha you will ever taste
To date, I havenât found a matcha brand that can compete with this one! Itâs smooth with that traditional matcha flavor! Highly graded and goes perfect with coconut milk!! This is my second time purchasing this product and Iâll continue to purchase it every-time I run out. The bag has a pull string to please pull that to open it and donât be tempted to cut it open using scissors. You get a pretty good amount of matcha in the bag. Enough to last you about 30-60 days depending on how frequently you drink it.

Good but also not good
Unfortunately I really like this matcha. However for 1 oz it is a complete rip off. The packaging is absolutely horrendous, when you open it up the matcha poofs into the air and there is so much spillage because it barely clips closed. The flavor and quality of the matcha itself is a 4.5. Would love if this was made into a small jar or singularly packaged in a bigger bag and portioned out. Granted you only need 7grams for a regular beverage, but with this one I feel you need more to taste the flavor. I am writing this in hope of new packaging! But for now, I will not be repurchasing.Small cat food can & lighter for size comparison.

Great matcha!
Taste is overall good, but I would like it a bit stronger. Not bad! Making Matcha milk tea will be a challenge to get the right ratios, I am willing to try! Smells fantastic. Texture is like all matchas. Durability? Matcha is powder…health benefits are immeasurable. Ease varies. You have to find your taste. My suggestion for Matcha milk tea depends on the size. For about 16 oz, I suggest 2-3 tsp matcha powder. Use hot water ~180-190 (
