The default grind size is very fine. Adjust it using the metal “gear” looking piece that is on the threaded rod near the top. Unscrew the top gold screw, remove the handle and silver locking piece, then screw the gear up or down to change the grind size. You will be able to see the 2 pieces of the grinder getting closer or farther apart.
This manual crank adjustable burr grinder is perfect for anyone who loves coffee and / or Mason jars! Jar not included.
Grind your coffee straight into the *Wide Mouth* (3″ internal diameter) jar you plan to store it in! Scroll down for grind adjustment instructions.

Customers say

Customers find the manual food mill grinder functional and adjustable for grind size. They like that it fits any regular-mouth Mason jar to catch the grounds. However, some customers feel the build quality is flimsy and requires strong hands to use. There are mixed opinions on grind quality, ease of use, and value for money.

I keep this in my off road supplies. Love it. Compact, and works wonderfully.

Works great and is simple to use.
I enjoy brewing my coffee with fresh ground beans, but the electric grinders are very loud in a quiet house early in the morning. This grinder makes it easy to produce a specific grind consistency and drop it directly into a mason jar for ease of immediate use and storage. This should work great for camping as well!

    Great grind, on the cheap
The Bad:This is not a top quality device(at least not the body of the device). It is rather light weight metal (tin or aluminum maybe. I don’t know). The top nut comes loose partway through a grind and you have to tighten it (could fix it with a simple lock washer). Sometimes a bean or two jumps out of the grinder bowl. This is the second one I’ve owned as the rivet that connects the knob to the grinder arm came off. The second one has been just fine. The Good:This thing has an actual cast iron conical burrs. It truly does a flawless dual sized grind. The grind is identical each time you use it because the burr gap is set then locked with a keyed washer of sorts. The grind quality is top notch. The price is quite low for cast iron burrs. Most grinders in this price range have ceramic burrs and they break teeth over time.I love this grinder and I’d definitely buy it again, but it needs some design improvements to get 5 stars.

Good quality grind, very slow, feels flimsy
Pros: The grind size adjustment is great and stays set where you put it. The burr seems to be high quality and the grind is really consistent – quality of ground coffee you’d expect from a couple hundred dollar electric burr grinder.Cons: Very, very slow and the hopper size is way to small. I have to grind three hoppers full of beans to get enough grounds for a 12 cup percolator. The connection of the hopper to the jar ring feels flimsy – you can feel it moving while grinding so I suspect it won’t last a long time. I’m considering buying the large mouth version to get a bigger hopper, but I think the price is a bit steep for something that feels like it may not last so I’m going to wait and see how this small one holds up.

    Simple to use
Grinds coffee beans to just the size I want. Takes a little effort, but not too bad. I use it every week for my cold brew concentrate.

This grinder works well, but is flimsy
As manual coffee grinders go this is a good one, and worth the price. The only thing that would improve it is if it were made of heavier material. It fits nicely on a pint size, regular mouth Mason jar, and requires five hoppers full to fill the jar. If you like fresh ground coffee, and don’t mind a little manual labor, you should get one of these.
