Built like a brick outhouse
This is an awesome grinder it is all metal except for the wooden handle. It makes a perfect grind and a perfect cup of coffee. I love the case and how portable it is but at this time Iâm using it as my everyday grinder as my electric grind is a piece of crap and make a bad cup of coffee. So if I can find an electric grinder than can grind as good as this grinder I will buy it, I can not find any cons with this grinder buy it you wonât regret it.

High quality feel and consistent grind.
The one area I allow myself to be pretentious and snobbish is coffee. This means freshly ground coffee beans are essential. At home, I have an excellent countertop grinder. However, I have had to go to great lengths to accommodate my habit while traveling because I have learned that I cannot assume a quality coffee shop will be available, and I can no longer tolerate subpar coffee after years of snobbery. I travel quite a bit, so I’ve gone through at least four hand grinders in the last 8ish years. Most did not produce consistent enough grinds and were made with plastic pieces that broke repeatedly. The last one failed while on a week-long sailing trip with two others who were also addicted to coffee and were relying on my hand grinder…needless to say, it was a bit stressful even after the questionable fix that allowed it to limp through the rest of the trip. After that experience, I purchased the Whitney Standard coffee grinder.So far, so good! The grinder is well-machined with no plastic pieces and produces a consistent grind. Attached are pictures of what came in the box, the lack of plastic pieces where I have had failures before, the nice travel case, and my test of the grind consistency/grind levels. I have yet to put the grinder through rigorous testing over months of travel, but I am confident enough to bring it on my next sailing trip after the grinding I have done.The directions for finding the lowest grind level were a bit lacking, but with a little thought, I figured it out. I carefully tightened the grind dial until it could go no further (no spinning at this point!), and then I backed it out three clicks. That was the finest I attempted, and while the grinder performed admirably, I wouldn’t suggest it. It is too fine of a grind for my WACACO Nanopresso (I’ll be using 5-6 clicks), and it took more pressure than I am comfortable with to spin the burr (no matter how well it is built, it is still a hand grinder designed for travel and can’t replace a heavy-duty countertop electric grinder). For my Aeropress, I’ll be using 14-15 clicks. I stopped after 20 clicks because I am not interested in hand grind levels beyond the needs of my Aeropress.

Perfect and portable
This grinder gets used every single day in my house. The blades are sharp and work well to grind a perfect espresso bean. Easy to use as the handle freely spins and has a solid wood grip. Creates perfect espresso taste and is portable and compact.

Quality in a small size
We love this product for traveling and especially for use on our sailboat. No need for electric power! It grinds perfectly with a high-quality crank which is also easy to clean. The sturdy storage case protects the grinder for packing and storing in small spaces. I highly recommend this product to brew your freshest and tastiest cup of coffee, no electricity needed.

Aluminum Failure
This worked great for two days before the aluminum threads that engage the stainless steel grinder mechanism stripped out. Bad design, try another brand

Thrilled with the quality of my purchase.
I highly recommend purchasing from this small business to anyone looking for a new manual coffee grinder. The design of the grinder and the carry case are well thought out. I love that weight of the grinder along with length of handle work together for an effortless grind. If you’ve owned a manual grinder before you know how frustrating a clunky grinder can be. Believe me when I say that this is not the case! Speaking of the case I love how sturdy it is. I can toss it into my commute bag for work and my hiking pack for camping. There’s even enough room in the case for me to put a small bag of my favorite beans, which works out wonderfully when you’re packing for an overnight camping trip and want to pack light. One of the nicest things that I found was in the instruction manual. The owners must love coffee and want you to have a good coffee experience with their product. They give you a coffee to water ratio so you’ll always have a good cup, no matter where you are.

The only one you’ll ever need!
This is amazing! I purchased as a gift but opened it before I gave the gift, I was blown away by the quality of this product. I love the case, the sleek design, and ease of putting the product together. I goted this to my dad who grinds beans every morning and makes coffee using a French press. He said the grinder on this far exceeds his prior (plastic burr) grinder and even his home mounted grinder. He remarked that the quality is excellent, the grinder is highly efficient, and he was pleased with time required for set up, use, etc. Beautiful little product.

Manual coffee grinder
Works very well. Easy to adjust coffee ground size desired. The grinder comes with a brush to clean out coffee powder between uses and a nice carrying case. The grinder is exceptionally well made. The unit is small but can grind enough coffee for an 11oz French press coffee for me with some extra grounds to spare. A friend who is a retired machinist was extremely impressed with its workmanship. He demonstrated its workmanship by giving the handle a gentle nudge and watched it rotate on its own.
