Best bang for my buck⦠this Hand Grinder grinds GREAT,
A new espresso-making tool has appeared at the house. Iâve sprung for a decent hand grinder so I can grind my coffee consistently.I agonized over the selection of hand grinders out there, until I found the SUVYKEP KA-1. It offers an easy method of selecting the proper grind size with a wide range of settings to choose from. No need to fiddle with tiny dial settings inside the grinder any time you need to adjust. Itâs built stout too, with a solid milled aluminum body offering a good grip. I picked the cool- looking anodized black grinder. With its sharp 6-point 440 Stainless steel burr, & two bearing races keeping the works turning smoothly, itâs an easy and accurate crank to dose a consistent 1 or 2 shot in no time. And I couldnât help myself⦠got creative making a product video.

Fantastic grinder for the price!
I own several hand grinders that only have internal adjustments but wanted one with external adjustments to easily switch between grinds for different brewing methods. The action is very smooth on this grinder, and the grinds seem to be consistent with my more expensive one. For the price, I think it’s a fantastic.

Great grinder for the price
Great grinder for the price. Machined very well and has no problem getting a good grind for my med to dark roasts I use in my picopresso when I travel. The only reason I’m docking a star is the dial up top doesn’t line up with the lines when clicked in. It’s still perfectly functional though.

Works as well as much higher priced grinders.
I bought this grinder during prime days. Iâve had it long enough now to give a review. I have other, higher priced hand grinders, but this one works as well and grind size is as consistent as the higher priced ones. It is easy to use and clean and its compact size makes it easy to store or take on a trip.

Bad for Espresso
The grind is not fine enough for a decent espresso. At the lowest setting my flow with 9bars of pressure is still too fast resulting in a sour, salty espresso. Would much rather recommend spending the extra money on a KingGrinder K6 hand grinder.

Smooth and Accurate Grinding
Quality grinder. The bearing action is smooth. The grinding action is smooth and settings are repeatable. Very well built. Grinds fast too.

Precision quality at low price!
Very impressed with the quality of this manual coffee grinder! It is solid, it is machined with precision, and it is smooth and quiet! The bearing is SO smooth…when the last coffee in your load is finished, the handle spins freely and silently! And it’s good for the arm muscles and balance too! My first test grind was too fine for my espresso machine (pressure gauge went WAY high)…so I’ve started a journey now of learning the perfect grind setting for my machine! But this grinder has an excellent range of grind sizes (55 separate click-stops). Excellent value for the price!

Have had the unit for 10 days. For the past 12 months, I used the “SHARDOR Burr Grinder Mill Electric Coffee Grinder with 16 Fine to Coarse Grind Size and 2-14 Cups Selection” (purchased from Amazon). It works fine, but is a bit messy to operate and for the past month would only grind Coarse, which doesn’t work with my espresso machine. So I looked for a replacement. I considered the Timemore C3S but reviews suggested that yes, it does espresso, but offers only two steps in the “espresso range”, one “a bit too coarse” and the other “a bit too fine”. Timemore offers an “ESP” model with more steps in the “espresso range” but it’s not available in Canada. So I kept looking and found the Suvykep. (Its box prints the name as “SUV v KEP”.)Name aside, the box is elegant but not tacky and the metal grinder and crank are kept in their own compartment in the box. The grinder’s exterior is heavy, solid metal with a black, matte finish; it feels “German” engineered like a BMW automobile. The crank has a wooden handle with an excellent smooth finish. This attention to detail is appreciated. The grinder offers 55 steps of precision labelled from “0” to “11” in increments of “0.2”. Yes, this grinder “goes to 11!”Turn the top to dial your desired grind precision. It’s so easy. As mentioned, the unit labels steps from “0” to “11” with five steps for each label. The five steps from “0” to “1” are for turkish coffee (the manual recommends not operating often in this range.) The 10 steps from “1” to “3” are for espresso, giving you 10 ways to enjoy espresso.I’ve used both “2” and “1.4” and found “1.4” to provide a grind that my espresso machine seems to like best.Insert the beans, and turn the handle for 20 – 30 seconds for enough grinds for one double espresso shot. Yes, it takes some time, but unlike an electric grinder, the process is almost completely silent. It takes little to no effort at all to turn the crank. Two minor concerns: the bottom of the grinder is very slightly tapered; it should be completely flat and finished with a soft, non-slip finish. Secondly, it appears the unit can’t be disassembled for cleaning. (I “cleaned” the grinder’s interior by grinding a few beans and discarding the grind.)This unit is a keeper!

Write my adjustments on the bags, usually 1.0-1.2 range for my Flair 56. The hand feel and finish of this unit is exceptional, but the grind rate is relatively low.Overall, I believe that you are getting a fantastic product for the price. Bearings on the shaft, external adjustments and the ability to grind espresso adequately with little retention compared to some of my other hand grinders. And this thing is weighty, feels nice to hold. This is a winner.

So very lovely and so easy to use. Grinds coffee like a charm. Use it camping so we can have a freshly ground cup of coffee each morning. Well made. Excellent craftmanship. Very elegant and adds a touch of class. Highly recommend.

I have a $600 Rancilio electric grinder, and this one works just as well. Absolutely beautiful machining.I bought it because I like different beans than the family, and prefer grinding manually, merely because of the noise of the Rancilio.
