There is a lot to like about this grinder. First it’s beautifully designed and executed in wood, aluminum and stainless steel. You can see it is designed for people who appreciate well made equipment..Practically speaking, It has a conical stainless grinding burr that has 72 positions of adjustment, more than enough to dial in espresso on you current equipment. With it you can grind fine enough for espresso and coarse enough for French press. I tried it with my French press at about 60 clicks and with my non pressurized portafilter at about 25 clicks. Both grinds were consistent and took about a minute or less to grind. The grinding process, especially at the coarser grind settings is pretty easy and kind of fun, IDK if I had to make a lot of coffee if I would feel the same way but for the few cups i made it was fine.Construction wise, it’s beautiful, I found It’s quite heavy with a nice wooden knobbed bent handle. The grinds are captured in a small cup that attaches to the bottom with screw threads, Design wise, I do have one minor issue. The grind adjustment knob has 12 clicks per rotation. To set the grind size, you need to first set the grind setting to the finest grind by turning the knob clockwise until you can no longer turn it, this is the finest initial setting/starting point. From there you make the setting progressively coarser by turning the knob counter clockwise. Each full rotation of the knob represents 12 ‘clicks’. For espresso, it was a little over 2 complete rotation counterclockwise. My issues it you need to manually count the rotations, there is no indicator telling you how many rotations out from the finest you are at. This means if you want to change grind settings for different methods of brew, you first have to bottom out, or initialize the burr position by turning it clockwise until it stops, then back off to your desired setting. It’s not a big deal, I don’t see any other way of doing it, I just thought it was different. In summary, well made great grind consistency. At $90 it’s a deal.

I like to manually grind my single cups as it doesn’t take too much time and I don’t have to get other things in place when I want a cup. So this grinder works perfectly as something I can keep with my kettle in my office. It only holds 20g comfortably and that’s more than enough for a single cup. I have only put around 15 doses thru it so the burrs are still being broke in but the grind is very uniform with very little fines in the filter. The handle has a nice bend in the middle so your knuckles don’t ever hit the bar. It’s well put together, the bearings are smooth and the catch cup screws and unscrews smoothly without a hint of noise. Do take the time to spritz your beans, as the one time I didn’t, the static cling made a mess of the catch cup and the bottom of the grinder.
