Money well spent.
This is the second coffee maker I have converted using similar filters, etc, and both times, the water flow and taste have improved significantly.

Awful gasket!!!
The rubber gasket provides with this kit is a total piece of garbage. The gasket Iâm replacing lets some steam through but the machine still builds steam. This gasket is thin and stiff. The machine makes no pressure and water goes everywhere. The screw works as expected and I have no clue if the screen is good or not since the gasket is so awful.

Perfect upgrade! Super easy install.
When my espresso machine started acting a bit funny by taking a really long time to come to pressure, I decided it was time to replace the seal. And I figured while I was in there I might as well replace the shower screen with an upgraded IMS screen. This kit looked perfect. I was a bit worried because I’ve watched videos of IMS shower screen upgrades where people had to drill out the screw hole to make it larger, but this one was perfect. It came with a screw, but it was the same size as the stock screw so I used the stock one instead (it was a flat head which is what most screens seem to use, and it’s the tool I had on hand).Removing the old gasket was easy but required some pliers. Then removing the old shower screen was as simple as unscrewing and pulling it down. I then screwed the new shower screen in and pushed the new gasket into place; all it took was a little bit of pressure. I used the soft blunt handle of the pliers I had on hand to remove the previous gasket and it seated quite easily. The new shower screen does a much better job. It creates a true, even shower of water. And the new gasket solved my pressure problem. Excellent upgrade. Sooo worth the cost.

Nice Upgrade
I think this is a great upgrade to improve the existing one that comes with the machine. The only downside is that the material of the seal seems to be “grippier” and in turn makes it hard to attach the portafilter. I usually just lube it up with some oil every once in a while but that gets sticky so I have to wash the seal over time but worth the trade off.

Perfect fit for Breville Infuser
This is a perfect fit for the Breville Infuser, it was easy to install and the pressure is back on the espresso machine.

Not good for Breville BES870xl
He silicone ring is great. The shower screen fits but simply doesn’t work for the Breville BES870xl. I have an older one with only a clean mode, and not the clean/descale mode. The screen generates channeling such that all the water flows primarily from two points. The result is the pre infusion flows a lot of liquid, and it’s impossible to build up sufricient pressure regardless of grind or dosing.Once I replaced the original screen both issues were eliminated immediately.I tried numerous times to reinstall it and vary the screw tightness.

Started leaking
The seal was good at the beginning and then after 6-7 months started leaking so bad. The quality of the item seems fine, just started leaking too soon. The OEM part that came with a machine started leaking after 4 years in comparison to 6-7 months of this one.

The new gasket fit perfectly, and it feels similar if not the same as the original one.The shower screen works fine, I’m not sure if it’s better or not with limited use, but it’s worth trying. The screw doesn’t use the allen key given in the Breville set, but it’s a common style so doesn’t matter.

The shower screen from IMS and the gasket are both quality products. They installed really well and operate to expectations.
